After I got to know him, I went binge watching all the youtube and dailymotion vids I could find.
Checked out all the tumblr accounts which were recommended via google serach lol.
I missed out a lot so I had to catch up.

When found out he was doing Fantasy on Ice in Kobe, on the same day I will be going on a vacation there.
I scrapped my original itinerary and went through the lottery bloodbath which I lost.
Then I had to get a resale ticket much to my relief is legit and happily watched him skate live for the first time.
Scratch the Kansai earthquake the day after, the trip was definetly worth it.

Now I am willing to go for tooth and nail for Worlds 2019 Saitama, the tickets go on sale this month.
To everyone planning to get ito too, lets all :pray: hard to get it. :ghug:
 
Thanks for sharing about the Olympics! Another question - how many of you screamed (or at least squeaked) at that moment when, jumps done, he flung out his arms in that move and you could see the joy and relief and hear the crowd scream...

I am actually more confident that he will win this Olympics than four years ago at Sochi. And I am glad I get to know him that time or I will be regretting that I didn't know him until pyeongchang.

I still remember the day I get to now him and I fell in love with him instantly. On top of that it's February 14 so it's extra special.

Screamed, jumped up and down despite a sprained ankle, clapped until my hands hurt...

I couldn't exactly remember what I was doing, so I guess Kiches and I have TV Tokyo to thank for capturing it. I was clutching that Pooh for dear life!!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I didn't scream/laugh/cry all at once until he won. It was a good skate and I knew it was good enough for a medal but the competition wasn't over so I kept my cool until everything was final.

It was insta-love for me too. It's a roller coaster as his fan, but overall rewarding. The highs are really damn high!!

I was clutching Pooh for dear life, too. It was a cycle of clutch Pooh, applaud when a jump is landed, then back immediately to clutching Pooh.

I remember these back in February. I thought she was a promising player and a nice girl, but I was not expecting her to become a US Open champion in mere months!! I like pleasant surprises! She's certainly easy to root for (though I root for Serena too).
 
I learnt yesterday that Naomi was also watching Yuri On Ice, too, so I guess she likes Yuzuru and figure skating itself. (or anime)

Given how hard she 'stans' Yuzu, she might be someone here lurking in this thread you know :laugh:

By the way this is the first time I see someone call Yuzu "Yuyu". I have seen Yuzu and Zuzu but not Yuyu before. Is this a Japanese thing?

Good question. Though I was watching a J-drama the other day and a character named Yuri was called Yuririn so I'm curious if it's a thing too.
 
yup, naomi has been the only reason i watch ladies tennis and i was expecting a big breakthrough....... so glad she won, and she totally deserved the victory no matter what the media spins.... and it is a bonus that she follows yuzu... wonder if he watched her match or has any interest in tennis...
 
"Yuyu" could be her own nickname that she made up, or it could be a typo. I've never seen it before, but it's not like I've looked that much.

Also, what is "stan"? Is that like 推す?

Stan = stalker fan ( not really stalking but kind of more hardcore then fans)
Eminem was the first to coin stan with his song “Stan” from 2009 😆
 
Random comment. The supposed yyskater on Youtube is apparently Yuzu's private account. And since it got leaked he stopped all activity on that account. I checked this morning to see if he uploaded season music like he did with H&L in 2016, but he didn't make the same mistake twice [emoji23].
 
I totally thought the same thing when I saw she posted "Yuyu"!! I was like "hey, this is the first time I've seen this nickname!" :laugh: Never heard/read it in Japanese so I think it's just her own terms of endearment?

Interesting trivia, now I am curious to see what the playlist of that channel.
He probably wanted a place to save and review performances just in case the hard drives fail.
But icloud can give that to him just the same.
