And at Sendai Subway station, pillars advertise the YUZURU II Photobook. I'll need to remember to check it out when it reaches the local bookshops. https://twitter.com/awaawaseikatu/status/1046222905472745472
https://twitter.com/yuzu_kyun_mami/status/1046215897063596032 --Here's a collection of all the pillar advertisements, from the subway stations around Sendai. It could be a challenge to see them all.

We're in heaven, it's underground, and it's full of Yuzurus..... :clapper::cheer::clapper:

All these exhibitions of Yuzu make me wish I live in Japan and could go see all of them. rather I have to live on the other side of the world:palmf: I only have time for one overseas trip this year so had to toss up between Japanese ice shows and exhibitions or GP series. Decided on Helsinki in the end given that we are not sure how long he keeps competing.

BTW I have re-watched Otonal so many times - its on its way to surpass PW as my favourite SP of his. When this music choice first came out I really didn't like Otonal, no matter how many times I tried to listen to it (and shorten it in my mind). But ever since Yuzu skated to it, I have the image of him skating when I listen and I find the music to be hauntingly beautiful and have it on constant replay. Crazy the effect his skating has  the only thing I think he needs to change is perhaps make his costume darker? I compared the training session and the actual competition and I don't think the quality of movement are much different, however the impact on screen is much more accentuated in the black UA. In the light blue costume a lot of the movements were lost amongst the white ice - similar to the issue he had with the white LGC costume. I am sure he will fix it though given he did the same for LGC.

My god, Sendai really does love their Yuzu, don't they?

Sendai loves Yuzuru for sure but my wallet doesn't... I thought I will be able to resist that photobook... but those photos are so beautiful. And I can't only have second photobook so I will probably end up buying first one too

I don't know, if this has been mentioned here already (I've lost track after ACI a little bit):

I asked myself since the first practice session of Otonal, why Yuzu's not doing any difficult steps before and after his 4S as he did in Chopin. Well, here's his answer:

“The double three turn I mentioned earlier. The back three turn into a 4S is from Javi. JAVI IS A VERY IMPORTANT PERSON TO ME. That’s why I put this into my program. So rather than being preoccupied by the GOE, it was more about putting in everything I could do.”
In other words: this little footprint from Javi in his program is more important to him than high GOE :agree:

Similar situation with the planned 4T+3A sequence and the distribution of his jumps. He might lose 4-5 points there, but for him it's worth it. The personal value of all these little details is not measurable in points :ghug:

This autograph of Yuzuru is in the cake shop in Hokkaido. Yuzuru bought a birthday cake for Orser when they were staying in Hokkaido for Japanese nationals 2012. The shop had his autograph before but they received new one from him this year. His good memory and thoughtfulness

--Now I want to eat cake. Hokkaido has some very good cakes, baked goods a puddings. It's the dairy capital of Japan. I had a pudding there once that I'll never forget. :)

In the beginning of Otoñal he was opening an album of his past and all the different steps, jumps, choreo etc. is kind of tribute to people in his life not just Johnny Weir. Of course Yuzu will add his own flair to things.
This program (Origin also) have so many layers to it. I don’t know how people find it common and standard. Yeah it wasn’t perfect but we already see how beautiful it is.

Aye :) Watching these programs is like time travelling - not only through Yuzu's personal career but the history of figure skating. You can find hidden messages and motives in every move. This is so... non-standard as it could be.

Well, people who do not dive into the different "layers" but only look at the surface of these programs, might not enjoy or appreciate them in the same way, I don't know. Let's wait and see how the season develops :hap10:

But he's doing difficult steps before his 4S. And after. Or do you think Javi's 4S entry wasn't difficult and worthy of high GOE?

How is he not doing difficult steps before and after 4S? :slink: Yes, three turn by itself is considered as an "easy" turn but his entry to 4S in Otonal literally starts with ina bauer connected to 2 x three turns then mohawk... and he exits with a counter which is a difficult turn. Definition of difficult turns and steps by ISU:
Difficult Turns and Steps: twizzles, brackets, loops, counters, rockers, choctaws.
Turns and Steps must be executed on one foot.

In Chopin he did inside spread eagle - three turn - mohawk- 4S - outside spread eagle

I thought that rocker-counter-SE-three turn mohawk-4S-outside SE-inside SE is more difficult and less telegraphing than Ina-2x three turn-mohawk-4S-counter... If not, I apologize
To me it really looked like an untypically long jump preparation for Yuzu standards and the landing didn't appear that fluid either (despite the counter)...

Okay, Ambesi is a bit harsh here ("There's something before the jump. Not much."), but I would agree with him that Yuzu's 4S had more action before and after and was less expected to happen.

Question: is the combo of an outside/inside spread eagle more/less difficult in execution than the mentioned five turns plus choctaw? I would have said yes (except twizzles maybe), but I'm not sure :scratch2:

Its not about the hidden messages or layers cos those need to be explained.
If Shae Lyn Bourne didnt explain it, we wouldnt know the meaning they trying to convey. Akin to Hope & Legacy style.

I get what they mean standard. Standard Yuzuru movements(mostly), including the arms. Much like how we would expect Shoma to extend his body, etc.
Standard/usual music choice, no surprises.
The new stuff : 4T+3A, the so called hen pecking head movement. And a possible 4A later.

If Yuzuru chooses say a country music piece and do a dance he hasnt done before, then its unusual. Or do a song from One OK Rock.

So yeah, its pretty much along the lines of what Yuzuru usually does. I didnt expect anything different since he just recovered from injury.

I am not sure which is harder (it probably depends on skaters preferences) but for sure his new entry isn't easy because he does 3 turn after that IB. He connects them. I just realised there's another IB after 4S  I don't think Javi did anything special before his 3turns (?).
You can sometimes see other skaters doing accidental spread eagles as an exit when they want to save the jump. I don't think you can save a jump by doing a counter ;)
It's a new entry for Yuzuru so it isn't surprising that it isn't so smooth (for his standards) like his previous entries. But it was ACI. His spins usually are smooth but they weren't there. Some of his jumps also weren't that smooth either :P
