Really happy for Yuzu winning Helsinki! Beautiful and magical skating! Congrats on the WR's as well! When I watch him skate I don't think of points or tech I'm just watching him skate. So happy he's still in the sport! [emoji106]

Seen the King live in person for the first time this weekend. He is in another dimension compared to anyone else. Thank you for this experience! It was phenomenal.

In merely 16 seconds, I heard at lease 3 languages. Japanese, Chinese, what's the other one? Fans really came from all over the world to see yuzu.

Wow, so, just watched his programs again, and now that the thrill of the moment has faded somewhat... as absolutely stunning as they were, that was nowhere near his best. God willing no injuries or anything happen, he has the potential to shatter those records to pieces within the season. (crossing self and knocking wood frantically)

I agree with Tara that it's an honor to just watch him.

And on a less serious but no less fangirly note, after the SP, I was so hoping that he would break the FS record as well, 95% for his own sake and 5% because I wanted to wear something in honor of his world record(s) to work on Monday, and I have no sparkly blue tops. I couldn't go shopping yesterday or today, but I do have a sparkly gold top, so "problem" solved now that he's got the FS record. (If he hadn't gotten the free program record as well, I was seriously planning to wake up two hours early and go to a thrift store near where I work that opens early... and I will definitely be looking for sparkly blue tops after work.) So now, I shall be comforted by my SP record commemorative nails and FS record commemorative outfit while I try to make it through work without keeling over from the guilt of spreading cold germs around. Why, oh why, don't all countries have a custom of sick people wearing masks?

Didn't him break 3 records? sp, fp and total?

Yeah it's far from his best form. It feels like he was preserving energy for the jumps and didn't totally commit to the program. I still like the TCC open practice version better. But at this stage, the most important thing is to skate a clean program to win. I'm sure his stamina will catch up later in the season.

Yes, all 3!

He said he left out a lot of the choreographic elements this time around. I can't wait to see them!

Question!!!

Do you guys see under rotation in 4Lo and 4T? Maybe 4T is so marginal but 4Lo is so clean in that regard. I just want to know if I'm mistaken or not.

Isn't his 190.43 already a record? It's just short by 9.57 because what he aims is to break the 200pts. and show the ISU that no scoring changes can stop him from getting the score he wants (the last part is only my joking thought) lol

I agree. The 4T was a bit less than 1/4 but its close enough that either call would have been right. I don't have a problem with that but the loop was clean. No question.

Thanks for your replies, I lowered the speed of video and watched the loop a few times and I was really confused how they saw it as an UR

Yes, I'll go edit that to make it clearer. I meant that after the SP, I was hoping he would also win the FS so I could wear something I already have to celebrate that record, then I was happy that he did, for him and for my fangirliness.

4T looks slightly underrotated, but unless they changed the definition of full rotation from less than 1/4 of a rotation short to less than 1/4 of a degree short, the 4Lo was fine.
