Haha I don't think you need to worry about Japan needing to care more about Yuzu - the TV ratings for his segment of the Olympic competition was like 46% - that is about half of the country watching him win ! only Japan's winning game in the World Cup this year had similar average ratings.

the whole point of that TV show was to find Japanese people who are so out of touch with reality that don't know any famous people :laugh:

which reminds me during the Olympics there was a gag TV program where they send a reporter who went around looking for people who wasn't in front of a TV watching Yuzu's Olympic skate and asking them "why are you not watching Hanyu fight for Japan? how could you?" :laugh: Almost making it like a crime to not watch (although i feel sorry for the people being interviewed lol)

Hmm not sure why there's the misunderstanding regarding Yuzuru's education when the Helsinki GP was precisely the GP where Yuzuru was introduced as a university student before the SP :laugh:

Same here... The funny thing is: We DO have very good skating facilities and various national tournaments here in the city. We even hosted World Championships in the past, but the majority has no clue about figure skating today :confused2:

Well, at least a portrait of Yuzu hangs in my university office, so all math students and professors know him :laugh: #EducationGapClosed

Kikuchi-san thank you for everything.
Before I saw a footage of him saying he first met Yuzu at age 10 in his clinic.
His Father was carrying him piggyback because of a sprain.
I guess they have been together ever since.
Thank you again for helping Yuzu to be the Champion he is. :ghug:

I wonder if there is the source of this information, but I am not surprised that he has already retired from Yuzuru's personal trainer. By the way, I've heard that the release date of his book was postponed and new release date is undecided.

I love that Danii has noticed that about Yuzu's eyes, I find myself so often thinking "what do you see?" when watching him....

The number of coaches, choreographers, musicians etc who would love to work with our Lord... well, why shouldn't they want the best?

Oh dear, I think that lady made what she was saying sound much more dramatic than she meant it by using 生きています (living, i.e. being alive) instead of 住んでいます (living, i.e. residing in a place). I'm guessing she meant that she's living in Japan because of Yuzu, not that she's alive because of him? It's the same word in Russian (like in English). Would most Japanese people realize that she likely meant 住んでいます? :shocked:
 
I'm still recovering from my trip but I can say for sure there were plenty of Hanyu fans at the GPF judging by the amount of Pooh keychains and other little things I saw ;) (let alone fans like me who didn't have any obvious signs on them). Also I saw a second banner and snapped a quick picture though the beginning was cut off-- my best guess is it said: あなたがいるこそ、幸せを感じる underneath his name. Basically I think a wish for his happiness?
