Always nice to see compliments from Patrick. I think comments from him who was Yuzu’s biggest competitor means a great deal.

I agree. Patrick is a legend in his own right, an amazing skater, athlete and human. I can't imagine how he must have felt, losing his almost certain Olympic gold, just soul crushing for any athlete who came this close and to continue after that really requires a steel will and drive (props to Zhenya for breaking through as well :))
It must be extremely hard to compete with Yuzu and I've always enjoyed watching the three-headed monster (Yuzu, Javi and Patrick) compete :)

Alas, I didn’t start watching fs early enough to witness that era. From going back and watching all the past competitions and hearing commentators basically refer to them as the big three, it baffles me how they never ended up on the podium together... It was always two of them as gold and silver while the other one in 4th was it?

This is the 24 hrs charity show he does every year... he should be doing it this year again. I love how for some years of 24hrs, I think the year he did Requiem and Hana ni nare the rink even had mist floating on it such that it appears he is skating on clouds.

Thank you so much for such a detailed answer. :)

I think it has a special meaning from Patrick because it quite understandably took hm a lot of time and probably bitter regret to get to this point (and to be honest and give the man his due? I think a lot of people probably would never make it). Because Yuzuru's place in history is what he must - must - have thought round about 2012-3 was going to be his...

Reminds me of those Lotte Yuzu figurine spoons... wished they mass produced those more instead of it being limited. Why do Japanese love limited editions and lottery so much :palmf: there will be less scalpers if they produce more of everything, or allow you to buy it instead of lottery.

Everything is for selling their products :drama: Kose Japan set the lottery for limited Yuzuru's goods but we have to buy 5,000 yen of their products to apply, unfortunately I'm going to miss it this time :sad21:

Limited edition makes it special, however... something bigger. I can see why they do it, even if it means I'll never get to have them (and I would have loved those spoons...) With Yuzu, they do it because they can (he's special edition all on his own!!!)

Some skaters are announcing their pieces for next season. I hope yuzu announces his soon.

Don't hold your breath, I predict it will again be media day - which is always later than most skaters announce it, because Yuzu Is News - before we find out...

Is it bad if I want him to keep Origin?

I would love it, but I think this year he's going to go all out for the blessed 4A, for maximum scores (as well as programs for the ages, this is Yuzu!) again, we saw how long "oh that doesn't matter!" lasted last year...

I think at least one of the competition pieces will again be Japanese music.

Today's morning local newspaper, there is new interview by Yuzuru.

"I thought I gave everything in PC Olympics. But now, after this season was ended, I've been most motivated than I had ever been. I want to challenge new things, also want to feel my limit and new world."

(do you think about how to end your competitive career or the timing of your retirement?)
"No. I am feeling the joy to be able to challenge once again, I want to go further as much as possible and that is the strongest feeling (now)."

(I changed last part a little.)

Happy that Yuzu found his center once again.
To the doctors and therapist helping him with his ankle, we are grateful for continuously helping him.
As long as he can skate Yuzu will continue, please help him until he reached the point he is satisfied and has no regrets.
