Once again I had no need to be nervous. What an amazing performance after 9 long months away from competition!! I also take back what I said earlier about hoping for the Queen version. This was so Yuzu and so fun!!!

Àaaaaahhhh!!!!! That was crazy good Yuzu!! Sorry for OTT fangirling people! He looked kinda tentative at the start, but second half though was real fun! I hope he maintain the same level of energy and confidence on his freeskate tomorrow. I was actually expecting real tacky costume for the SP, so glad that it wasn't. I guess trashbag pants is here to stay.

His spin got invalidated. Without this invalid spin his score would have been around 108-110 so I think he was not that much underscored. Seems like judges thought his sit twizzle was a spin and therefore counted the actual spin as a restart.

I can't explain how much I am proud of him!! Probably Yuzuru is the only skater who have trained alone for 10 months, with two new programs, and skated almost clean SP!! I know there is still LP and it is going to be another story, but I am so happy to see his existence in the end of this year. HE IS THE LIGHT.

I don't think it was the twizzles. I consulted with judge friend of mine and we concluded that after the foot change Yuzu did not have two full revolutions in either of his two sit positions and that according to rules got the spin invalidated.

I wouldn't really be bothered by this so much. I think he did amazingly well considered he trained on his own for so long and was constantly so very careful not to contract covid, it must have been exhausting.

And my own thoughts: I absolutely LOVE this program! Yuzu is freaking beaming with happines to be on the ice which is what I want for him the most, he performed the hell out of it and I enjoy the cheeky, sexy Yuzu so so so much! I was longing for such vibe from him since I watched "Hello I Love You" and later LGC. It suits him so well! He is so versatile it's crazy. Ganbatte Yuzuru-chan!

I admire how focused and aware of his body he is during this competition. And I feel so pampered by him - as he wants to entertain us, wishes we are in a good mood.

Same thing happened to Stepanova and Bukhin once. They did not travel enough on their sit twizzles so it was an invalid element :/
Yuzuruu's theory also sounds plausible.

I was very worried about him being coachless, as many skaters have shown how hard it was before, but Yuzu still did amazingly well. Spin and score aside, I love everything in the program. Wish you a good FP tomorrow.

Jesus Christ Yuzuru Hanyu is a rockstar! What an insanely awesome SP. Man... no words... The dude simply owns... And he has been skating for over two Olympic cycles! Mad respect!

I wore a smile during the whole performance. Just to see him skate again...amazing. It was a superb performance and I'm looking forward to the FS. I couldn't find any infos to livesteams but I'm also fine with VoD's ^^. Thank you SO much YUZUUU! ♥
