A bit belated happy 200 pages, too - 4464 overall if the thread hadn't been split up in 2017....

For some, anything will be twisted (when not invented) and made into an argument. Such immense talent and success as Yuzuru Hanyu's cannot escape hate motivated by these talent and success.

In fact, the season 2016-2017 alone of Yuzuru Hanyu Fan Fest has more than 1600 pages, so I can understand that it had more or less to be split.

I am proud of the way he didn't give up in the free but still gave it his all even though he must have believed at that point that the gold was lost (and the pressure this 19 year old was under - folk talk with justification about Nathan's pressure in 2018 but it wasn't as bad, he didn't have officials screaming in his face!) so that when Patrick crumbled, Yuzu was clearly and honestly the best in both SP and FS.

And he won Japan's only gold in any field at Sochi. More pressure.

And then gave a glroious performance of White Legend.

True. I always thought it was hair splitting and nay-saying coming from people who were not happy he won this gold in the first place.
But I do not think it is being upheld too often nowadays as his place at the top is undebatable.

Yuzuru won the Healthy Beautiful Skin Award given to a celebrity by the public vote. He won by margin of 1500 votes to the second place. The prize was awarded for the 4th time, he won for the 3rd time back to back to back
Honourable mention to Koichi Domoto from Kinki Kids who won 10th place. We all grew to like him so much during the 3-episode Split Interview they held together with Yuzu last year.
