Yuzuru Hanyu

The Zuihouden shrine in Sendai, one of city's most visited places, is going to have an exhibition of four decorations usually hung for the Tanabata festival in August, and inspired by Yuzuru Hanyu's costumes, from March 7th to March 17th:

Now, with Notte Stellata on March 8th, 9th and 10th; and Sunao Noto's conference on 16th, my joking conspiracy theory is thickening...

Yuzuru won the Healthy Beautiful Skin Award given to a celebrity by the public vote. He won by margin of 1500 votes to the second place. The prize was awarded for the 4th time, he won for the 3rd time back to back to back :)
Honourable mention to Koichi Domoto from Kinki Kids who won 10th place. We all grew to like him so much during the 3-episode Split Interview they held together with Yuzu last year.

Which is fair enough, his skin is amazing (okay, along with the rest of him.)

Again, my feed is full of people flying in for the shows... when you think of it, it's staggering that so many will do this. I would if I could.

Apparently, Yuzu's two shows in Saga brought about 480 million yen (over 3M USD!) to Saga's economy, no wonder he is so welcomed all over Japan :cheer:

Today is the anniversary of Yuzuru's epic SP in PyeongChang 2018, when he answered every question and doubt during the months of recovering from injury, amd came so close to topping his own world record...

No one comes close. No one.

My beloved Ballade, only surpassed in skating by his 2020 Four Continents', but then the music had echoes...
Yuzuru Hanyu's Olympic Short Programs have all three been breakthroughs in Figure Skating.

Many Cfanyus (Chinese fans of Yuzuru Hanyu), who had booked flights and accommodation hoping for a seat at RE_PRAY in Yokohama, and who weren't lucky at the different lotteries, have decided to go there nevertheless, I hope that they will have at least a LiveViewing seat in a movie theatre! A handful of them were lucky at last with the resale tickets, but I read a count of 240 who still didn't have a seat at Pia Arena for any of the shows. I think that I would do the same, in spite of the high probability of not getting a ticket in Yuzuru Hanyu's shows lotteries, because late airfares are so expensive, and suitable accommodation difficult to find.
I don't remember having seen any for RE_PRAY in Saga, and many people had to sleep in Fukuoka instead of Yokohama, plus the venue wasn't as big as others where Yuzuru Hanyu has skated, which explain the relatively low amount of this economic effect; but it's still appreciable, and maybe exceptional at the scale of Saga tourism habits.
