2022 Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur

2022 Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur will take place Oct 18-23, 2022, in Nice France, at the Jean Bouin Sports Palace. The event will feature all four disciplines (Women, Men, Pairs, and Ice Dance) in both the Junior and Senior levels.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the 2022 Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single, Pairs Skating, and Ice Dance, as well as all relevant ISU Communications.

Going through the panel of judges for tomorrow, I see that Ms Natalia Kruglova of Ukraine is back to the "scene of the crime" 10 years later

Cup of Nice 2012 had the following "incident"

3. At the hearing on February 13, 2013, the witness Ms. Stevens described the encounter and conversation with Ms. Kruglova as follows:
“On that day I knew I was judging the pairs skating section. I arrived at the ice rink at a quarter past one and the competition was due to start at two o clock. We had a meeting with the referee at 1:30. I went into the cafe at the ice rink, which was on the top floor next to the judges’ room. When I was getting my soup suddenly Natalia Kruglova asked me: ‘Diana, come and sit with me!’ Behind me all the tables were full but in front of me they were all empty. If she hadn’t said that to me I would have gone to one of the other tables. As I was having my soup Natalia bent over to me and touched my arm and just said: ‘O Diana I have got something to ask you. Please, when you are judging my couple this afternoon, you know they need every mark they can get. So please will you, when you think of giving them a Zero, please give them a Plus, because that will help them’. At this point I was shocked and I was angry. I put my spoon down and said ‘I am going to the meeting’ and left the table and moved away.”

The coverage is actually on the link in my reminder post, directly above your question. However, it is buffering every time I refresh or switch tab in any of the other windows I have open.

So, is anybody else finding the same problem? Or is it the case that the new update to Firefox that arrived this morning is more memory intensive than any previous version?

This camera position isn't really the best for the Warm-Up. You can't see much. Especially with the Start Order graphic taking up 1/3 of the screen.

I wanted to see SuperSimone!

But, fair play to the person operating the camera, they are doing the best that they can.

Mmmm. I'm not sure whether she messed up one of her spins later on in the programme, or whether it was fancy choreography getting out of it.

Otherwise, it was very good.

She doesn't look terribly thrilled (probably upset about the fall). And there isn't a lot of talking going on.

Into 2nd, less than a point behind the current leader.

Awwww!!!! The Turkish skater on after Stefania, Fatma Yade KARLIKLI, was skating to Destiny Chukunyere!!!

I loved Destiny when she was on "Britain's Got Talent" a few years ago. And, although I'm not the biggest fan of her 2021 Eurovision song (I don't think it did justice to her voice), it sure does make for a fun figure skating programme!

Unfortunately, Fatma goes into last position.

You all know that I am biased towards small fed skaters. But, I absolutely loved that programme from Ecuador's Emilia GORDON!!!

Two really fun programmes in a row. This competition is really spoiling us! (Let's face it, we needed it after the depressing cover of "Can't Help Falling In Love" that Stefania is skating to!)

Unfortunately, she has taken over last position.

But, we had a fun moment during the song that was played after it. The camera zoomed in on 2 of the volunteers who were dancing along to the music. And then they realised, and got all embarrassed.

Massive cheers for Laura CERNEI (ROU) when she was introduced, and again when she finished. I wonder if she by any chance trains at this rink.
