Pity about Lydia's fall on the Triple Salchow. But, otherwise, not bad.

Judging by their (lack of) reaction, I think they were expecting something like that.

I like this new-found effervescence in the pairs (e.g. GBR has at least 3 junior and 2 senior viable teams, that's awesome), and I'm glad that Sophia Schaller is part of it. it will do her soul good (although it didn't seem like it at the moment). on the other hand, the development of some pairs is astonishing. Caldara / Maglio, Vouillamoz / Giniaux - you can't recognize them

Despite what the doom-mogers that are predicting the demise of the Pairs category may think, there are a lot of promising partnerships around at the moment. Which is why it is a shame that so many events are not including Pairs. Because these promising partnerships need opportunities to get more experience.

Sure, Sophia may be disappointed, but for goodness sake, she's brand new to this! Same with Tom Bouvart (Coline Keriven's new partner).

Don't forget Isabella GAMEZ / Aleksandr KOROVIN! You wouldn't think this was a new partnership with how they're getting on.

Yes, that is disappointing. They would have been the Top 2 finishers, no doubt about it.

BUT, I've got two sets of kids in this competition. And not having the Georgian and Czech partnerships here means that both of my sets of kids will finish 2 places higher!

And one of them is coming up right now!

Not a bad skate at all!

First time I've actually seen Linus since they partnered up, and the first time I've seen Elise full stop! Having not found any results for Elise in the past 7 years, I was apprehensive that she may be competition rusty. But not a bit of it! I was seriously impressed.

I know I'm biased, having adopted Linus' whole family. But, I see a lot of promise in this partnership.

Aborted start for Juulia TURKKILA / Matthias VERSLUIS (FIN).

Not sure what actually prompted the re-start, as it was the correct music that was played. Maybe it wasn't in the right position or something. They didn't get penalised for it anyway.

Comfortably the new leaders.

But, that isn't a surprise. With the withdrawals, they are probably the favourites for the title.

Some synchonicity issues in the early stages of the programme.

Didn't half see the rest of it, as my Dad came in and started showing me things on his phone that I wasn't interested in.

But, from what I did see, it wasn't bad.

Into 4th. One position and 2.68 points in front of my other set of kids!

actually now I was more interested in some couples and programs than the competition. I particularly liked Dupayage's rd (slightly higher tempo and ok), as well as the Swiss team. Montaner / Jepsen is also a positive surprise - especially the guy, I last saw him with Sofia Val and well... but that was a good skating from him today
