The 2018 Olympics start a year from today, Feb. 8. Lots of stuff to mark the day.

Team USA is doing a live chat with Gracie Gold on its Facebook page right now (9 am EST). She is also on TODAY. (ETA: Check out video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2Wmd2wmtD4)

The Shibutanis are taking over the Team USA Instagram stories page. Team USA Snapchat has some fun stuff too.

The NBC affiliate in Dallas, Texas did a profile on Ashley Cain and Timothy LeDuc: http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/No...Eyes-on-Olympics-One-Year-Away-413109653.html

Will add other links as I find them.

I hope for a picture of Brian meeting with Yuna. They should bury the hatchet. And the best place would be there.

What a full on year this is gonna be! Not just for figure skaters, but all Winter athletes. For some, 2018 will probably be the only shot they'll have to get to the Olympics.

Imho, a performance related to Olympics should be more sporty - maybe feature a jump?

Maia and Alex Shibutani are apparently also serving along with snowboarder Chloe Kim as US State Department Envoys and are doing events in Korea to mark the "one-year out" period. I believe the other figure skaters who have been named to this role include Michelle Kwan and Evan Lycacek.

they put russian for team gold as well. i feel like the person made the prediction don't actually watch the sports. they just write it down based on the results in the past.

Right, the most glaring omission is they don't even have Tessa and Scott in dance.

There was a big ceremony in Pyeongchang to celebrate the 1 year countdown. It was streamed by the official IOC channel. There are some performances showcasing traditional Korean culture that likely are a hint of what we'll see a year from now.

At about the 40:00 mark, it's guess who--Yu-Na Kim! :D She takes the official Olympic torch once it descends from the ceiling, and hands it off to Korean athletes who are wearing the official torchbearing outfit for Pyeongchang. The commentator doesn't identify Yu-Na, though, oddly enough. However, Yu-Na is the headliner, literally, in this article about the ceremony: http://www.espn.com/olympics/story/...torch-countdown-2018-pyeongchang-winter-games

They were kind to give Australia 6 medals, let's hope it happens as we've only won 3 the most at Vancouver and Sochi :)

And Russian sweep in ladies' singles.

Would not be surprised at all to see Yuna light the cauldron in a year's time. She is the icon of the Winter Olympics in Korea.
