Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Count me out. Sorry friends, but IMHO it's far too feminine for a guy.

Imo, it doesn't matter if the costume is feminine, just so long as it fits Yuzuru and he likes it. Besides, it looks really nice! There's really no need to bother about how feminine the costume is. He should be able to wear whatever he wants without people talking about him being feminine :rolleye:

Still lookable in my opinion. Not a fan but I still have the courage to look at it. Nothing near the stuff he put on himself last season for the dying Juliet program. :drama:

Back to the topic...
Now that I think about it, Yuzuru is dealing with mental problem more than physical, then maybe staying wih his family in Japan is more comfortable for him. Flying all the way to Canada does nothing to him if he couldn't have Orser side by side everyday in practice (it seems Orser will have to go with Nam to some competition from 3-7 November).

Many fans are speculating that the blue gala costume might have been for a new ex number that was intended for CoC. Hana wa saku was the NHK special charity theme song and it makes sense that he would skate to that there, but he might have something else planned for other competition. ;)

Hanyu-san 's old coach, Abe Nanami, was once again visible rink side in yesterday's gala. I assume she was the choreographer? If that is true then was she the one who got everyone to do his R&J 2.0 pose at the end of the finale. :) So happy that he is surrounded by lots of love and support. Kid will definitely be alright.

Uh... hello? I said it was my opinion and this is a forum, right? Last time I checked everyone on this forum was allowed to give their opinions on costumes.

I know. That's why I put 'imo' at the beginning, because that's purely my opinion on his costume.

May, just hope that the time he stays with his family will help him sort everything in his head well.
Now for the fun. Yuzuru likes cats. It seems cats love Yuzuru as well.
Here is a collection of photo from Japanese fans, they say their cats love watching Yuzuru, and some ONLY watch Yuzuru, lol

Actually now that I think about it, Yuzu hasn't finished finished off podium since Worlds 2013! Wow... thats pretty impressive

I just watched Hanyu’s FP through EuroSport, NBC, CBC and NHK. Most of them showed respect and support to him.
He suddenly looks so mature within several weeks. Poor the Kid, he’s just 19 year-old. It’s hard to see him trying to hold back tears after the free program. If it is part of growing into maturity, it’s been too tough for him. But it shows how strong he is.
Hope he can recover completely soon and come back stronger than ever.
Here is link for CBC (only a low quality version)

Congratulations to Yuzuru for making GPF. I hope he'll have recovered enough--mentally and physically--to have a good skate there. So sad to hear both Yuzuru and Han Yan seem to have some psychological blocks after the crash (though it's understandable).

New costume: I guess he wanted to forget the incident, hence why he ditched the costume. I preferred the old one for its Phantom-esque design and eye-catching red, but I think the new one is quite nice as well. Maybe a bit, well... overdesigned, coupled with the contrasting plain pants, but I'll take more sparkle over less. :)

POTO LP: It's good to see a cleaner version of it compared to CoC. I'm still not sold on the program though, mainly because of the vocals. I think it'll be lovely with the singing removed. :slink:

I think Yuzuru's POTO has the best music cuts among all POTO this season, the choreography isn't bad, much better than David Wilson IMO. I don't like POTO musical a bit. But I think his POTO will be awesome when he finally skates it cleanly, or skates in his top form.

Who choreographed his POTO? It's actually a really good program, I quite like it and hope to see it without falls sometime soon :)

I just find the vocals distracting. The choreography itself isn't bad.
You know after 2 seasons wih David Wilson now I am the like of "Anyone but David Wilson, be it vocals or not". I think Yuzuru's POTO LP is a huge achievement from his dying Juliet LP.

I think Yuzu is a type of skater that regardless of the choreography or music, he can make any program look good if he skates with passion and fight. :agree:

Haha that's true. He actually made me like his R&J2 LP a bit more after 2014 Worlds

Maybe I'm just not into Shae-Lynn Bourne's choreography... I didn't like the 2012-13 LP she made for Dai either. That coupled with vocals, and... :hopelessness: (But I love watching Yuzuru all the same, and I hope he skates the LP cleanly sometime this season).
