Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

His age difference with the second place though :slink:

What's wrong with it? Younger people probably voted for the young guy, older people voted for the older guy. No wonder Yuzuru's won, younger people are keener on polls in general. :)

oh my goodness, I left home thinking, awww that's cute; he won most huggable. And then came back to this :o: honestly, you guys talking about Stamina, technique :o: :laugh2:

:hijacked:OT but poor Dai in fourth; (TMI but) tbh I'd have him ahead even though I'm Yuzurus age. were his fans taking a day off? They used to be good at this sort of thing.

Oh gosh, I've just had lunch and now you guys made my stomach hurt :laugh2: (yeah stamina, yeah technique, yeah flexibility :laugh2:)

ahahaha wow the SECOND he turned 20 he wins a poll like that. I wonder if he'll do an acceptance speech video like he did for the yahoo thing. Just imagine! Also, I think Takahashi should have been #1 =X

Actually, I would like to see him make an acceptance speech video  It'll be super awkward and hilarious

On a side note, I can't believe Nationals is just 1 week away from now. So excited for it! Hope Yuzuru can improve on his performances there and become 3-time national champion (no jinxing though oops) :cheer:

I've uploaded about 97 of photos I took of Yuzuru, at the Grand Prix Final in Barcelona --> HERE.
I find them pleasing, I hope others do too :-D

These photos you took are absolutely amazing!! I can't believe you're not a professional sports photographer! What type of camera and lens do you use? (just wondering) ;)

I was supposed to have a wisdom tooth pulled two days before Barcelona; but after giving it some thought I decided I wasn't gonna take any chances and rescheduled for today.
I'm so glad I rescheduled. The surgeon dude just told me "Well, this wasn't at all easy, and you're looking at a difficult week ahead of you, sorry about that." :drama: I'm soooo glad I didn't have the GPF ruined because of this! And now I'll have Yuzuru's programs to help me through this, too. (I haven't actually seen his FS and Gala again yet since Barcelona.)

Good luck on the wisdom teeth extraction, I had mine pulled out last summer and it was a horrible experience. I had to live on mashed potatoes, apple sauce, and yogurt for more than a week. Nothing actually hurt during the actual operation (because the surgeon gives you laughing gas), but afterwards my entire mouth swelled up. Probably the most painful experience of my life, in all honesty.

(also, sorry about going off-topic from the thread's actual current discussion)

I gave some info about my camera in my post in the GPF board:

If anyone's interested, the camera I used was a Panasonic FZ1000. It's a high-performance "bridge" camera. Not exactly cheap, but nowhere near what you'd need to spend on a DSLR and lenses for similar results. Last season, I used a Panasonic FZ200 which is less than 1/2 of the cost but still has excellent speed and performance, and I got some very pleasing results from that.

I learned about photography using "fully manual" film SLR cameras, in the days before auto-anything, image stablisation technology etc. I also used DSLR's for many years. But not any more. I got fed up of carrying DSLR's and bag full of lenses around, and switched to bridge cameras once they reached a certain level of performance. Actually I never used a DSLR for skating anyway, because I disapprove of people who use big-lens DSLR cameras in an audience - I think they are rather inconsiderate. They are usually distractingly noisy for people sitting nearby, and often have huge lenses on them which may obstruct the view for people sitting either side, or even smack them in the face. No wonder they are banned from many spectator events...!
My photos are probably better than the average snapshot, but really - nowhere near what the pros publish in the glossy photobooks. And I don't have any particular talent - I just know a bit of theory, and I've had plenty of practice...

Actually I notice a few of the photos I posted are a bit messed up by lazy one-size-fits-all "batch" processing, when I resized etc for sharing. But oh well. Most people don't notice :-D Maybe I'll go back and tweak them a bit.

Look closer, this poll not only for young women, it has the participation of 40s women. 47-year-old women said that she want to teach Yuzu some technique
