I love the juxtaposition of Sasha in his suit and Adian in his blazer, t-shirt and sneakers (looking very 80s...not that he would remember them!)

I hope both of them make the top 5, at least!
 
I'm just so bummed that there is no live broadcast. I would settle for one of those LQ streams like at Nice Cup. Something, anything. But alas, nothing.
 
SP: 76.87 (40.66 + 36.21).
TES score indicates it was not completely clean. But no fall or significant error.
 
Sasha is 6th after the SP, within four points from 5th. 5th is the best possible position he can achieve unless he lands a clean quad tomorrow, given that the men above him all have at least 1 quad if not 2 or 3.

But the good news is that he's in the final group of skaters tomorrow. :)
 
As long as he skates clean, I'll be satisfied. I think the Rusfed pecking order is quite obvious (painfully so) but his time will come... :)
 
Hmm... I'm interested to see the protocols + video. Russian forums did not note any obvious error by Sasha. 40 is rather low for a clean skate, given the elements in his program. I think he could have gotten an edge call, if not then the judges might have been stingy with the GOE or downgraded the levels on his spins.

So my hunch was right, Sasha was sick last week (hence he could not perform for the opening of Mishin's school). :(
He only started full training 2 days ago. :cry:
I'm really proud of him then, to be able to perform a near-clean performance after just recovering from illness (did Liza pass him the flu I wonder...). :)

He skated clean and made the final group, even while ill. I'm proud of him.

The final position carries a lot of pressure... but who knows, maybe we'll see his PCS magically rise if he skates clean and the people before him splat. :p
