I/K were still holding hands at the small medal ceremony at Worlds in 2014, so yeah it means nothing.

I just opened the result page and it's great to see Ruslena on the first place. I'm also surprised with 4th place of S/K. After all these positive interviews with Zueva during summer (about Viktoria and Nikita have a great speed, that they are amazing, have beautiful technique...) I was expecting something special. I also thought that they will have bigger support from judges. I'm not a specialist for ice dance technique but the first thing I noticed during warm-up at the Rostelecom Cup was the very good speed and overal SS by I/Z. Comparing to them during S/K have nothing so special. I know that both teams need to work a lot, but for now I like Ruslena more.
Anyway I'm happy with the results. Especially I like I/Z and S/B being 1st and 2nd. I can't wait till tommorow, so I'll be able to watch live.

This. We are way better than this. None of this should come as a surprise. It was written on te wall that I/Z was going to be the stronger team technically. Their SS skills are just to die for. People just didn't expect their PCS to be so good. SinKats just need more time. How much, no one knows. It would be a bit pre-mature to gloat too much or write them off. That being said. I AM SO SO PROUD OF MY RUSLENA!! KEEP IT COMING!!

I think S/K still have a chance to make it. Honestly, the success I/Z is experiencing right now is the exception, not the rule. Couples like Weaver/Poje, Chock/Bates, Gilles/Poirier all needed few years to get it together. But I do think that someone should try to get Nikita to held back a little bit. IMO, it`s clear that Vitctoria still needs time to keep up with him.
I wonder how many times you managed to repeat that within this thread!
Yeah, I know, right? But I have a brand new bottle of Christmas cognac and I'm thinking about turning this into a new drinking game...

If they don't finish on the podium, I think ChGG , as the Russians call them, may find missing worlds to be a blessing in disguise. They can work more on skating as one and fixing their technical issues. Right now, it's clearly the Nikita show and Vika is having a lot more problems catching up to his level than Ruslan is catching up to Elena's level.
Why is it so hard for s/k but so easy for I/z and z/g? Here you have two teams together shorter time than s/k and I/z beats them by 10 and z/g- totally not seen in the same league - a 59 to their 60 with greater tech!

In my cards, teams like Ruslena are very seldom, that they click together in such a short time. Ruslena is just extraordinary, there is something about them which raw attention. They have what peope call "IT".
New teams need time to gel and to find where they work togheter best. S/K are just a normal team , who needs time and patience. I do find Vika a bit bland for dance, she needs a better package in expresion, as it is their team is very unbalanced with the dramatic Nikita. But give them time and they might climb back. I cannot see a reasonwhy should split, not other partner will work very quick to a better team with any of them.

I/z and z/g have already gelled. S/k need to gel by tomorrow or their next competion is in November 2015! Maybe earlier if they do a nebelhorn or something. Any longer and they will be out of the top 3 and praying zahorski is never released from France. If they can even stand it!!
