Yulia Lipnitskaya

Then there is a Simonenko article today saying she will be training with Morozov, or at least hinting it. Putting TAT into the picture as well. And some poster on FSO said Germany or Kazakhstan. So it's getting more and more confusing and let me say funny. Cause the truth may just be somewhere in the middle, I mean you can't skate for three countries and have three coaches:laugh2:

Hasn't Morozov choreographed for her before? So maybe that's going to be their relationship, or if she is going to change coaches, it would be easier for her to go to someone who she is familiar with. Or maybe her team is getting rumors started about her going to a different choreographer to get Illya to freak out at the thought of losing his trophy girl for his shows? I wouldn't mind Morozov he's not that bad of a choreographer and as a coach he has had some good results.

The idea of Tat is appealing because not only is she a good coach but it would give Yulia a powerful friend in the Fed, and I think commentary by other coaches will shut up as well.

I admit I used google translation, and it was a terrible one, but my understanding was that Simonenko was just speculation and guessing all the coaches available out there, not hinting that she will be going with Morozov. Besides, didn't she left Morozov, as her choreohrapher, saying she didn't like his choreographies? :laugh2:
In anycase, I really hope she will never go with him. He might be a good coach but his choreo, lately especially are crap. TAT isn't really coaching these days. Even with Arthur she is more like a mentor because he's working with people that TAT suggested for him. So I don't see the point to go with TAT. Not to mention that she spends more time talking about how good Kovtun is, rather than Artur. I don't want to find Yulia in that same position, when her supposed coach is talking more about Adelina rather than her. :slink:

I follow Yulia's russian image board at 2ch.hk . They are the people who follow Yulia so closely they noticed when she supposedly unfriended Eteri and Diana on VK. Someone on there is claiming to be an insider and starting all of these rumors but that is all they are right now. Rumors. He or she has not posted any proof at all about everything they are claiming. So for all intents and purposes nothing at all has changed with Yulia.

I would actually be glad to see eteri go. she is clearly a world-class trainer, but I have concerns about her ability to manage. yulia became a super-celebrity after sochi team event, and eteri never seemed to anticipate the changes this would impact on yulia.

i'm also concerned about eteri's personality. in the kiss-and-cry eteri always seems more conscious of herself than yulia. also, when disappointing scores come in eteri turns to stone, as if she is so upset that she forgets about yulia. I also don't like the coldness she always has towards yulia. when we see yulia give eteri a big hug, eteri is always looking off into the distance, as if she is thinking about herself instead of yulia.

this brings me to a last point. in spite of all the talk i always read about yulia, no one ever seems to mention that yulia is a fatherless girl raised by a single mother who had to work all day in order to support them. this explains many of the qualities we see in yulia: that she is emotional, distant, and so on. when eteri built an elite team of juniors after sochi based on her success with yulia, it left yulia out in the cold. i'm going to guess this didn't help yulia's fierce sense of loyalty.

yulia needs a new elite coach to tell her: "i know you have the potential to be the best. i will dedicate myself to you 100%."

I wouldn't judge Eteri based on a few clips in the K&C. Those just do not tell the whole story. Far from it. I think the decision should rest with Yulia herself, rather than fans with 1% of the facts.

Personally, the only concrete problem I see (one not based on speculation/extrapolations from facial expressions) is that Eteri has a lot of students. Perhaps Yulia needs someone who dedicates more time to her. But who knows what the real problem is, and whether Yulia needs more time, or needs something else...

But whatever the case, one bad season is not an automatic reason to leave a coach. See: Liza.

Not too sure about the Kiss & Cry part but I totally agree with what you said about why she was emotional and distant. She and her mom lived hard lives.

Yulia met with the CEO of Adidas!!

"Meeting with young, people inspire me - that's why I love my job," Martin Shankland, CEO of adidas Group CIS.

In the photo next to Martin Shankland Julia Lipnitskaya!

Here is a picture:

I've been speculating for some time that maybe Adidas should be hooking her up considering all the Adidas swag she has been wearing in photos. Well ...maybe she is.

I hope Adidas makes her a super hip pair of perfectly fitting skates with a huge tongue out look so she can launch triples all over the place like a little gangster

Alright..maybe not the tongue out look  but its good to see even if this photo was from November. Adidas is a great company and promotes its athletes very well. Go Yulia!!

I completely agree with you, I think she needs more attention, more support, more time !!!!

Speculation and/or your personal interpretation of things. I do not agree.

Built a team after Sochi?! And "left Julia out in the cold"? WHAT?

All these "coach" posts remind me of soccer clubs: "we lost one match. SACK THE MANAGER"

I don't know what is happening to Yulia and the coaching team, for sure it's a difficult time for her. But it's not the end of the world and changing coach right now seems too soon. Eteri is still doing very well, with her other students.

What is this whole "Let's blame Eteri!!" thing?!

From what is available to us Eteri does not neglect any of her students.
But if she does it is definitely NOT Yulia!
She "neglected" both of her star Juniors, accompanied none of them to their GP to stay in Moscow with Yulia (with whom she went to every single competition btw.)
When she felt like Yulia was about to be treated unfairly prior to Russian Nationals she willingly put herself in an unfortunate position inside Russia and risked a sharp tongue to defend... Yulia!
She offered to change the R&J programm when she saw that it was not working but Yulia insisted on keeping it.
Instead of blaming Yulia for failing, like other Russian coaches blamed their students this season, she kept defending and explaining her.

We all have no idea what happened to Yulia this season but everything from "Physical exhaustion", "Lack of competitive desire", "Media Pressure", "Boot Problems", "School stress" and "Too little preparation time" makes more sense to me than
"It's the coach' s fault!!"

According to the last paragraph, Fed 'neither confirmed nor denied that Lipnitskaia was changing coaches'. Seems like tabloit press to me... reading this forum after being away for few days blew my mind tbh.

Yeah, but it opens with "according to sources close to Lipnitskaya...". And again, it's a respectable big news agency, not some random newspaper, and if they report it as a fact, not as a rumor, it is most likely true. Still not officially confirmed though.
