Yulia Lipnitskaya

No really people, let's not go with crazy theories now. :laugh2: This is something which I cannot believe at all. No one is going to skate for another country. Not Yulia, not Leonova, not Pogo, not Artemieva, or any of the russian girls, IMO.
Why would Russia give strong skaters to other countries? :confused2:

Also, Ashley Wagner wiil be arrived to train in Kazahstan too.
I also hope that those things won´t happen. Just decided to share them with you guys...

I completely agree, it not seems possible at all. Russians fed will never let go one of her best talent. Then Yulia represents a lot for russian people since her participation at Olympics Games, and her leave to another country is just crazy !!!!

Regarding Yulia though and the rumors that she left the club. That she is not there physically, she is not training etc. There is also another thing to take into consideration. If I'm not mistaken she has some exames in January. She is not going to Europeans anyway, so it could be that she "left" the club to prepare for the exames.

...what has happened to the thread?

Since it just seems to be speculation and wild rumours at this point... I'll assume Yulia's still with Eteri and nothing changed. Does she need a change? I dunno, I think that decision is up to her.

You left for some days and look what happened.

I don't know if she need a change. Maybe yes, but from what I know, I have - as Yulia fan -nothing to complain about Eteri. If Yulia thinks she needs to change the coach, I'll be fine with that too. At the moment though these are all speculations, as you said.

Then there is a Simonenko article today saying she will be training with Morozov, or at least hinting it. Putting TAT into the picture as well. And some poster on FSO said Germany or Kazakhstan. So it's getting more and more confusing and let me say funny. Cause the truth may just be somewhere in the middle, I mean you can't skate for three countries and have three coaches:laugh2:

I agree that ideally it should be her choice but if she continues to be funded by the fed she is going to have to accept what they decide. Maybe a new coach can help her fix her jump issues..edges and all. To me it's clear that she can perform the program and portray her role. Take a gander at any if the pictures on her fan page from Romeo and Juliet. There is always something beautiful inside ready to burst out. No coach can change this. Every issue this year was was psychologically related to confidence in her jumps. Maybe a new coach can bring her back....maybe not. I'm not overly attached to anyone except her.

Sam and Alba, Confidence in jumps was a symptom. The underlying causes, whatever they are, hurt every aspect of her performance including jumps. Watch R&J from the Russian Nationals, she was stiff, unfocused, and tentative throughout the program. She tells us it is more than jumps and edges. According to Yulia, the major issue is "I have forgotten how to compete." We see good practices which are followed by poor performances in competitions. No coach can diminish her intuitive gift, but is there a coach who can set the stage for her to express it in competitions? That is the issue. Eteri's failure wasn't coaching skills, she failed to pull Yulia out of her competitive slump. Yulia's high point was Megapolis in China. It is possible that Eteri does not want to continue as Yulia's coach because Yulia deteriorated over the season despite her dedication. Eteri took this very hard. Yulia should choose her coach under ordinary circumstances. However, if she is confused (and she says she can't explain her poor performances), then any choice will be emotional rather than rational. This is probably not the time for her to choose. She couldn't even decide on a costume. I am wary of any coach other than Eteri. As for the fed interfering, Alba said they never force decisions about coaches though they may advise. Yulia would welcome advice, but it has to contain understanding and wisdom to be effective. We can't expect a coach "to bring her back" without assistance. The problem is complex and outside the competence of non-professionals. Relying on a coach to correct this without help may be setting her up for future failures. If you are interested in similar cases and their resolutions, feel free to email. Alba, Mat told us Yulia is studying algebra.

there would be no way of switching country. She is just studying and enjoying her time as a teenager.

You know, if they're thinking of sending her out of the country, they should consider Orser. Julia is an unhappy skater right now, and when Yuna was unhappy, overwhelmed by the public following her around, etc., getting away and reconnecting with the joy of skating was the best thing. I think if Julia were to focus more on the skating than on trying to win, things might just click into place for her.

we all know Russian fed doesn't have the kind of money to afford all of this.
