Question for Hanyu Yuzuru: “What is the source of your mental strength? Hanyu-kun, you really hate to lose from the bottom of your heart ne. Even when he’s not competing and we’re doing a show together, he’s so strong. During show practice, it’s like you have something to prove, it’s incredible. When everyone is doing choreography, you’re jumping. Even when it’s cold, you maintain your cool during his jumps…… You just do it, and it’s amazing.”
HANYU YUZURU
Answer: “Akio-kun, since things like training camps in juniors, we’ve gotten along quite well. You’re asking about mental strength! I don’t think I’m strong like that though (lol). Hmm…… I’m limited to what is inside of me, probably gratitude to the people around me and my desire to give it my all. Can one just have one source of strength. Really, the more you continue skating, it’s impossible to do it on your own. I don’t think there’s just one thing when we’re talking about mental strength, but if I had to choose one, it would be the support I received from others.”
Question for Shoji Risa: “Risa-chan, how’s your love life! Ah, I can’t ask that. I’ll get in trouble (lol). So, we’re both training abroad and it’s difficult, how is your English coming along?”
SHOJI RISA
Answer: “What’s this all of a sudden (lol). You may not know this, but Colorado is full of wild animals. I’ve met a lovely deer, but I can’t really say the same thing about human boys though…… Regarding English, I get by with everyday conversations reasonably well. I came here by myself, and I didn’t know English so I didn’t really talk. At the beginning, I made mistakes, and my conversation partners and I couldn’t really understand each other. But, even so, people would give me a kind smile and because of that, I started talking. In other words, it’s getting there! I want to sing songs in English one day!”
