I'm not quite sure though Josh views himself as "the number one"? He finished 1st at 4CC, but Jason is still the national champ and didn't finish as high at 4CC as he could have had due to the quad attempt. IMO, there is no clear number one between the american man at this moment, which is a good thing. Especially since Josh and Jason go to worlds "together"(seriously, I think their strong friendship will help both of them).
The overall situation with Josh still looks more like "honeymoon phase" to me. Everyone's still surprised he did as well as he did, and most comments are complimaints not yet turned into expectations. Of course the tone might be different in the american media, and he's likely not listening to the same comments as I do anyway. But it's not as if people would expect him to medal.
The only thing I'm worried about is this whole keeping the 3 spots thing. But Josh knows that Jason is consistent and reliable. And I'm not sure Josh is writing off Adam like most people do. I hope he can focus on himself instead of those spots.
