Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

In general I don't think they are used much in Japan, videos of Mao practicing the 3A as a little girl were without a harness and I think when Miyu Honda went to Russia to meet Evgeni Plushenko, she was at the rink and was really surprised to see a coach using the harness to teach jumps. The harness is just to give you enough air time so you know what the jump feels like, it's not like heavily used to learn jumps, at least not that I know of. If Yuzuru has landed his quads before and know how it feels, he just needs to practice the jump only.

I’ve never heard either Mao or Yuzuru use a harness to practice their jumps for sure ;)

That was so funny! XD Oh, and I LOVE Miyu-chan.

I like her name Miyu (望結) that has the same kanji as Yuzuru (結弦) and is not a common combination of kanji for a girl’s name. I think is kinda cool.

I wonder What miyu's name means with this kanji combination

well one of the characters is the same which is 結 which means to tie or bind, 望 in Chinese means hope, not sure if the kanji has the same meaning in Japanese but it is a nice name indeed

It has the same meaning in Japanese too.
As for the kanji combination, I don’t know but we are guessing from the meaning of the kanji characters.

On another note, as for Mao(真央), generally 真 which means the truth, 央 which means the center, a person (of high caliber) who are tolerant in Japanese.
I heard that her parents wish she will be the person who always faces at the truth, and is blessed among people, a beautiful meaning ;)

No, i paid for the song on itunes....the Japan site. I just had to figure out the way to create an account on the Japan site, then it worked.

Ah okay...I just read the last bit. I will go download the song as well(paying for it obviously)

Joluskating has published a new photobook under the title Beautiful moments of ISU Grand Prix Final Barcelona 2014, which has some nice photos of Yuzuru. It's available on Amazon Japan :)

Random question that popped up in the middle of the night. Do you think Yuzuru might add a 4Lo or 4Lz to his programs in the near future? Obviously not for Worlds but say, maybe next season? Or do you think he will stick to the 4S and 4T until he can be more constant on the 4S? I just wanted to know what people here think :)

He said his 4lo was more stable in practice than his 4S in the beginning so maybe next season we might see the 4lo.

Inter Junior High School Meet (for about 12-15 years old skaters) is a competition where Yuzuru and Shoma won three consecutive years respectively. This year, Sota Yamamoto won the first place with three 3A landed (SP and LP).

The second place was Sena Miyake (12 yo). I had only seen his EX before, and this was the first time seeing his full program at a competition. I like him. He is one of the novice boys talking in a magazine the other day.

I couldn't stand his EX (with the clown wig...I dislike clowns) but his LP is great to watch. Most boys are a bit shy about putting character into their programs when they are this age but Sena seems to be bold in this area.
Yuzu was like that too. He put energy into everything he did from a very young age.

Lol about the up and coming skaters. They can be called the 3S. Shoma, Sota, Sena.

I think 4Lo will replace 4S in next seasons before 2018

Maybe not next one, but I am sure sooner or later he will be trying it in competition

It's so weird that he's not very comfortable with the 4S, when he hits it it's monstrous. And his 3loop is not as reliable as his 3S don't you think? Since he can jump the 3S from a standstill with no speed at all (WC 2014). It is very amusing that his 4lo might be more consistent than his 4S.

He'll probably stick with the 4S next season but change it to 4Lo in the following. Or he might put a 4S/4T in his SP and go for a 4Lo/4T(x2) in his FP. Of course not anytime soon, but possiblily before 2018.

I think he simply don't like salchow jump ;) He started to try 4Lo last summer only and got it very quickly.

I think there will be no 4Lz in competition, but..... I think quad axel is still in his dreams/targets to do it

Or maybe he has been too focus on that 4S because he needs it to win over Patrick? If we're talking about the jump he hates the most then it's definitely the flip. He will never try the 4flip for sure.
I still think he might pull of the 4lz the season after the next, he doesn't hate the luzt jump, and he does practice 4lz.
I don't know about that 4A though... Max's attempt makes me feel nervous. It's too dangerous.

I think he just likes the loop. Probably second to his favorite axel. :p That's the jump he always does in warm-up first, and he said its become such a habit for him to use the 3Lo to test the ice.

Also since its not really working out, he should try rearranging it. 4T (or 4T combo) first, then 4S. I mean..he really doesn't have much to lose  His 4S is such an anomaly to me lol.
