2015 Worlds Ladies Short Program March 26

I don't understand it tbh. She isn't a Kostner or a Yuna, but 23-25 in the SP and low fifties in the FS is a low IMO.

I think she needs to execute her steps a bit stronger (especially during the StSeq) and drop some of the crossovers. It's not a lost cause but she isn't really nailing anything other than her jumps and one of those wound up on the floor.

I hate to be nitpicky about things like hair and costume, but Gabby should really have her hair in a bun since it's so long. It's kind of distracting flying everywhere. :slink:

Yeah, it was a bit much. I think she could have gotten away with a braid/random plait style, maybe if she wanted it long. That would have been a bit more controlled at least.

In the KnK she said her right boot felt very bad. It bothered her a lot. It seems it got loose and bubly during the skate

So Youn probably changed to the flip because she's more confident about the steps beforehand. Her lutz setup takes a long time, so she doesn't get much GOE on it in the SP.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Daleman saying her right boot felt like it was a bubble when she tried to push off on it. Sounds like mushy ice.

I don't buy the ice excuse. I skate on all types of Ice as I'm sure all skaters involved here do too. It's part of the game.

I know Gabby has improved her lines under Nichol, but her movements are too powerful and rushed for this type of music. I wish they'd let her channel her power instead of almost... I dunno, trying to mask it?

So Youn needs to up the choreo and finish her elements a little stronger. Some of those spin exits just looked like she wasn't even trying. So much potential but she needs to step it up because Haijin has a better presentation at this point if you asked me.

That 3-3 was gorgeous but her fall on the flip was not ice related but purely tilting in the air wrong. A bit surprised TBH.
I agree. She looked like she was dizzy at the end of the spins. I can't blame her since I can dizzy in a revolving chair , but it's not enough at this level of figure skating.

Still, she has potential and her interpretation isn't bad compared to the early-to-mid groups, imo (though Haejin more joyous and natural).

Mae Berenice Meite bouncing on the floor backstage like it ain't nothing. Love that girl's legs.

to yyyskate and those whose names I don't remember,
"Adelina's" music.
I wonder why didn't she watch Adelina's gorgeous choreo and performance to help her intepretation of Rondo-Capriccioso?
And yes, it is just an opinion in our free forum.

to me, it is soyoun's music:biggrin:
