They've miked the rink. That's the only explanation for how loud the blades are. Why on earth would they mike the rink?

Some of us has been going on that we love the sound of the blade hit the ice as if it is part of the musical performance, no different than if the blade is used as musical instrument in a recital. It works great with skaters with wonderful skating skills like Patrick Chan. I love the idea personally, problem is it seems a bit out of sync? It sounded a bit weird?

Why not? The sound of the blades is considered an indicator for the quality of skating.

Yeah, good skate from Amodio, finally. This is a nice program

Either way, I'm glad we'll get to see his Lion King again, I like his program better than the US pairs

There's seems to be one spot where the mic is turned all the way up too; really loud in that spot. And I agree, it sounds kind of out of sync with what I'm seeing...

He is one who is capable of bombing both, so one clean skate is always nice...
