Well Eteri has a few students, it might be that Serafima needed a coach that could fully concentrate on her, not Eteri's fault but she would have Medvedeva, Voronov and Lipnitskaia as prominent skaters!

Has it already been reported here that Serafima Sakhanovich has officially left Tutberidze and currently coaching in St Petersburg with Pisarenko. But no new coach officially confirmed.
Apparently nothing to do with Eteri but the break up with Pitkeev was too hard to handle.

Does this mean that she has managed to find funding in St Petersburg, then? I mean, this was the reason for her leaving in the first place. Where was this news confirmed?

I'd suspect at this point, given her results this season, Serafima isn't going to struggle to find funding wherever ( in Russia) she wants to go, so long as a coach will take her on ( which also probably won't be that much of a struggle).

I wish her well. I honestly thought she was progressing extremely well under Etri so this is a surprise to me.

St Petersburg is the last place with available funding in Russia these days. No confirmation about her coaching situation has been given. She just temporarily training with Pisarenko, her old coach.

Of course she would find funding. Russian government fully pays for top 10 skaters in each category, even skates, phisio ,choreography, off-ice, ballet and meals while training. Same for junior national team.
Don't forget city's teams and provincial teams, it also all paid. Russian skater don't have to worry about money like americans.

But....the reason that Serafima moved from St Petersburg to Moscow was because she had no sponsors and couldn't get proper funding. Has that changed now that she is senior? Is she even going senior officially?

Okay, I'm kind of skeptical about how real this is, but I wish Sima good luck and a few GP medals next season, regardless of her choices....

I mean, wasn't her reason to move away from St.P is to get more fundings plus a better skating environment? If she's really that affected by the heartbreak, I think Eteri would've done something like change their training schedules to accommodate her for awhile. Just really odd.

Well anyway, wishing her the best next year regardless of her decisions :/

I wonder what the reaction is in Russia to the results at Worlds? Obviously, they would be happy that Liza brought home the gold, becoming the first woman to perform a 4-triple SP and the first Russian girl to do 3A. But is Elena's bronze seen as a disappointment after being heavily favoured for silver/gold? And Anna... Not to mention missing the podium sweep, even after their biggest rivals--the Americans--crashed out in the SP.

I hope no one is chewing them to pieces like some seem to be doing with the US ladies. It just shows that they're all human--whether they're Russian or American.

I find it hard to believe that Eteri would let one of her top students just leave because of backlash from the ending of a relationship between a 15 and 16 year old. They are little kids, surely nothing too terrible could have happened. There must be more to the story. I hope that Serafima can continue to get funding and good training in St. Pete. She is currently in St Petersburg, her vk and IG reflect that. But whether she's just visiting family/friends or whether she's moved back permanently, it's hard to tell.

Her latest picture on IG is a selfie with Elena Pavlova, Pisarenko's student. There could be some truth to these rumours.

From what I know of Papa Mishin, he is uber strict that his skaters must have excellent technical skills. Sima's jumps are big and uncontrolled and her basic edge work and jump techniques certainly won't pass muster under Papa Mishin's high standards. So I doubt he will take her. Besides, his attention will probably be invested in giving Liza Tuks an even more formidable arsenal of including 3A in her LP for 2015-16. Not a good idea in my opinion.

There was an interview with TAT published yesterday or the day before. No disappointment in the ladies or pairs. But she said Russia needs to reassess its ice dance program and that Kovtun needs to see a psychologist.
