2015 World Team Trophy countries announced

I have a random question. Do the skaters bring their coaches with them for WTT, or are they on their own, basically? (I assume there are members of each country's skating federation there, at least.)

Separately, here's TV Asahi's Facebook page--they have several photos of different skaters counting down the days to WTT!

Well, from the performances I've seen from the past, the skaters do bring their coaches. I remember seeing Mao and Patrick with their coaches there. Besides, going in w/o a coach would be kind of reckless since the skaters can be more prone to injury when they train on their own.

On a side note some Junior and Novice Japanese skaters have also been invited to the Gala. , courtesy of the Shoma thread.

Sad that Misha did not score an invite.

My apologies to Stitch. I deleted my previous post, which was wrong. I misremembered that only two extra skaters are allowed to skate in the gala.

I have refreshed my memory by looking at the ISU announcement .. and maybe a total of eight extra skaters/couples are allowed. Four invited by the ISU + four more invited by the JSF.

BTW, the 2015 WTT announcement says also:
In addition, the team from Japan plus one selected team might be asked to choreograph a team-exhibition.

Making note re the team exhibition numbers b/c in at least one previous year, some GS members griped (unfairly, IMO) about which teams did and did not perform group numbers.

Adding to what xibsuarz said:

Yes, we already have seen coaches coming with this year's WTT skaters (e.g., Jason Brown; Scimeca/Knierim) -- in addition to the coaches who came in years past.
