I happen to enjoy TSL. Well, to be honest I'd describe it as a love/hate relationship with it, but when I have time I watch some of their recaps and interviews. Maybe they can go a bit overboard and personal, but they usually point out valid criticism, it's just that sometimes they don't choose the most polite ways to do it ... But it's their 'appeal', their viewers like this kind of sarcasm and what-not. That's why I was confused at the sudden change of attitude regarding some of the skaters, like Yuzuru and Julia, I feel they are repressing some of the sarcasm and bluntness. I also felt that what they said at the Worlds recap was genuine, especially because even if they pointed out what they liked about Yuzuru, David still compared him to Denis, saying that he prefers Denis polish and wish Yuzuru had this, but he also wishes Denis had Yuzuru's freedom and spirit. He also said that Denis is more of the whole package while Yuzuru is the best competitor, all of this I agree and is very 'TSL'. This part made me believe they were being genuine, even with the unusual enthusiasm towards Yuzuru.
I feel like they appreciate Yuzuru's qualities, they just don't choose to show how they like it, and instead choose to point his flaws because they kind of hold him to a high standard. Because of his titles they expect him to excel and they pick on the details of the presentation that Yuzuru lacks and should improve. I don't have a problem with pointing that, the criticism is true. It's their 'appeal' to criticize anyway, but some people don't like it because of how they point it, and I understand it as well. It's just that I don't treat them as something very official, it's almost like a gossip show, that's why there's 'wet noodle' stuff etc, so for me whatever. See how they pointed a lot of flaws of Javier, even if they are usually favorable to him. I think that deep down they like Yuzuru they just don't choose to show it often, my question is why they choosed to show it so openly during Worlds? Are they changing that 'appeal' and repressing themselves a bit? It felt odd how they were retweeting stuff from Japanese twitters, posting videos of his performances, the header with the big Yuzuru face (????) lol I mean, at first I thought they were being sarcastic k.
I think they follow every twitter with FS related things to broaden their 'sources'. They also followed me maybe because of my photo and username and then quickly unfollowed probably because they saw that I actually don't post anything lol I just use twitter to follow people that post about FS so I can be updated by seeing my timeline, and also favourite stuff.
