Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

This is my first time replying here, but if anyone is interested the base value of that is 20.5! (4lo is 12 and 3a is 8.5)

It wouldn't be counted as a combo though, right? So all that would be useless in competition. Such a pity because it's so impressive.

I wish Yuzuru and Brian decided to include the 4Lo next season because then Yuzuru would have 3 seasons to master 3 different quads program before Olympics.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but here is Yuzu comparing his biceps with Javier's :laugh2:

:laugh2: Yuzuru's are like half of Javier's!

I think it only counts as a sequence. So I guess he can only do it at exhibitions.

WTT 2015 Gala Ending

Moments that I love...
3:09min Yuzu did 3A-1lo-3S
3:36min checking on his juniors
3:46min oh my that little dance
4:21min calling the little ones to come over
8:19min Mura and Kana needs to exercise their throwing arms
8:34min He is searching for Cathy....aww and group hugs. Shoma so small at the back there.

Now we shall wait patiently when is that quad battle video will surface :cheer2:
The end seeing Cathy crying ... so many feelings

A lot of skaters have landed it on practice, Javier landed all types of quad jumps expect 4A. Will Yuzuru try to put 4Lo in his programs at the future? If it doesn't become a quad sal planned fall 2.0 or mess up with his hips I say go for it. Is there a clip of him doing a quad+3A without the hop in the middle, I mean, as a combination?

I think Stephane is good at choreographing for more refined and mature skaters like Satoko and Tatsuki, maybe it won't work with Hanyu. Actually, I think they should be searching choreographers that can 'get' Yuzuru, not based on the programs of any other skater that are so different from Hanyu. When a choreographer is a great match for a skater he/she can amplify the skater's qualities and hide the flaws. Buttle did a great job with this, he can 'get' Yuzuru style and play with it. Any more 'classical' choreographer that will try to impose that to Hanyu won't work.

I read somewhere that a -3a sequence is legal in competition as a sequence; it was worded as he "would get worth 80% of the sum of the BVs of the two hardest jumps in the sequence" (http://soyouwanttowatchfigureskatin...54741150/intro-types-of-jumps-singles-skating) but I'm not sure of the ISU document about that. Nonetheless, it's a pity because a combo like that deserves full credit.

Is that even possible? If I'm not mistaken, combo means that the takeoff of the second jump must be from the same edge as the landing of the first jump and Axel as a second jump requires a change of foot. Even when Denis Ten did a 4T-3A without a hop, he needed to change foot so I don't think it would have been counted as a combination. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, though, because I think I saw 2As as a back end of combos in ladies programs' protocols so I'm a little confused.

Maybe you're right, I need to check. But, anyway, is there a video of Yuzuru doing it without the hop?

If I remember corretly, I think Liza did a back end 2A combo in her long?!?!

I think I've never seen Yuzuru so happy, maybe at GPF but he really loves jumps doesn't he? That was impressive :jaw:

No, he always does it with a hop because he usually adds it on a whim. If he really wanted to be could probably do it since he's done it from stand still before. The jump is more instinctual to him and i don't think he really thinks about it when taking it on the back of his quads.

Just wanted to say. ....Oh.My.God. the one weekend where i go away all this happens :hopelessness: i haven't even watched his programs yet! ! I will come back later when I've watched it! Thank you everyone for all the links and updates

Completely off topic, but lol I screamed out loud when I realized they used Storm for the Team japan performance

And just some days ago I was listening to Yoshida Brothers and thinking that it would be great if Yuzuru skate them even if just an EX, what a coincidence. But I was thinking that in regards to A Hill with No Name, Overland Blues, Ibuki etc or better, a mix of everything.

Unless she can do the axel in the opposite direction, it's counted as a sequence. It's impossible to do a backend axel combo unless you can jump it in the opposite direction.

Correct me if I'm wrong about the directional thing:think:

After looking at some of his costumes, I think he hasn't tried yellow or green yet, think he can try these colors someday? (This topic might sound silly though~)
