Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Is a theory.

As I said I think the main reason he stopped doing the ice is because is very close to the start of the season and he at that time would or should be at Canada

Yes I think you are right it is because of training schedules. I am not sure Yuzu would actually outshine Mao. The ice is a Mao centric show so people attending are 1st of all Mao's fans and to general public in Japan, Mao still seems to be more famous and more popular than Yuzu. His attendance would be such a treat to the public though and if he did a number with her like Dai did, people would go bonkers ;)

Oh nice! And it will be made public a few days/weeks later, I guess. So we won't have to wait for TOO long, actually. :) *crossfingersforTEBevenifitsquiteunlikely*

I am crossing my fingers too although I'm sure a trip to Spain will be required this year if I want to have a chance to see him live...

I also want to go to to spain !, but I'm not very optimistic about it >< Good luck !

The Bompard would be so much easier to me... But nothing in life is easy isn't it ^^And Spain is definitely closer than Boston! Plus I kinda regretted not going to the GPF this year because I had already gone to TEB. The atmosphere seemed so crazy and exciting there!
Hopefully we will all be able to meet there

I agree. Though it will not be a long trip for us in France, we'll need to plan the time and days off, lol^^ I'm almost 100% sure that Javi will choose to go to TEB, so that will leave Barcelona for Yuzuru (if things go well and that he qualifies with no problem^^ last year was stressful as hell lol, I hope this season will be calmer.^^)

Yes, I hesitated a lot this year because I thought Yuzu might not be able to do it (and I'm so glad he proved me wrong). But I'm sure this year will be calmer for him: he did learnt his lesson and he'll be determined as hell to get his world title back! So he'll definitely be in Barcelona  And he seemed to have had such a good exeprience there this year.

Yes work is my biggest enemy right now: it will be really difficult to get days off. I think I'll end up going there on the week-end and will certainly miss the short programme and probabaly even the gala. Yuzu'd better have a really good long programme then  (And I'll certainly be close to having a heart attack at the perspective of 3 quads :drama:. This kid is not good for my health ^^)

Yes, he did enjoy his time over there, so the idea of going back to such place must be exciting to him (other than defending his title, I mean, lol). Well, as long as he's being reasonable on the shows (like it stays the way it is right now), it should be fine for training and a bit of resting time too.

Same, work will probably makes things difficult, especially if I try to go to Trophée Eric Bompard AND Barcelona. I can only cross fingers for this. I'm looking foward to seeing him back in shape. Who knows? If he improves his stamina again and train well, he'll be ok with 3 quads... If he DOES plan to keep it that way. Things can change until then. That will depend on how his training (and health) will go during the next months.

Oda explaining how smartly Yuzu has avoided zayak at 4.54min of this video

Mura and Kana masks following their costumes

I'm glad about the 4S, and the Biellmann as well. I often complain that he should drop the Biellmann but wow he even improves his Biellmann: https://41.media.tumblr.com/546d8678ea640b5142ea607a3fb75feb/tumblr_nmylejV9tR1t04szwo4_400.jpg

"Yuzu saying thank you to fans waiting outside. He asked them to be safe and not to push." credit Ge Seungbin from fb group. A video of Yuzu leaving the venue , I think this was tonight because yesterday there was also another video where he took the bus.
Yup, that was from tonight. Typically nice of him to stop for a few moments before leaving. :) At least, the season is over. I hope he'll sleep well tonight so that he can cheer for the girls and pair tomorrow... well, today since it's very early morning in Japan now.

A few people have been talking about Yuzu saying 'Go Nam' at the end of the warm up and it's right at the end of this video if anyone wants to see it :)

Jeffrey Buttle summed it up! true champion indeed, so proud of him for hanging on during this hard season and giving his all, i hope he can be proud of himself

I don't understand the Zayak rule. Please tell me ! :)
The Zayak rule states that you can't do more than 2 of any jump in a FP. Not only that but only a total of 2 types of quads or triples can't be don more than twice. Because Yuzuru's original layout was supposed to have a 4T and later on, a 3A-3T However, he popped the 4T and it became a 3T. So he's very good at making quick judgements when that happens. He did a 3A-2T because if he did a 3A-3T, a 3Lz-2T, 3A-1Lo-3S and then a 3Lz, he would have zayaked because there would have been 3 triples that would have been repeated: 3T, 3Lz, and 3A. By changing the 3A-3T into a 3A-2T, he avoided Zayaking because only the 3A and the 3Lz was repeated.

Newest picture of Hanyu-san in the kiss and cry area which I assumed we all missed since ISU couldn't go live in time

He's being so cute cheering here!!!

I really wish these would be uploaded to YouTube or dailymotion!!

They also did Satoko final pose in the K&C, I thought that was cute.

Anyway, congrats Team Japan for 3rd place. I'd have prefer to see Team Russia and Team Japan as 1-2, but hey! A podium finish is always good!

btw TOP 3 in Men receiving gift. Yuzuru really has a build like an anime

I know this is old but I just want to make it clear, well about...several dozens of pages ago we heard of the tabloid in which Denis Ten said something not good about Shanghai, then there's mention of skater and his staff make it difficult for him to get on the bus bla Bla and that maybe he implied Yuzuru. I have just found the video in which the interview happened and we can be sure that there was no such a thing.

My Russian friend translated it for me and you can be sure that Denis did not say any bad thing about any skater at all. He simply said the organization wasn't very good, there's some troubles. But then again even Worlds at Saitama got trouble with the location (hotel was too far) so I guess it's like that for many sport events.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYDCOT5k3Po

Many details in this interview are the same as in the tabloid, and some questions are the same so I think it's this from this interview the tabloid took source from. But all in all the tabloid has fabricated a lot, to make Denis seem to accuse other competitors and organizations while in fact he said no such thing. Nothing about any bus, fans, staff or any other skaters.

I hope this is the end of all doubt.

Yuzuru says bye to christine (i think more like to his POTO, this season but didnt want to change the users idea XD), its these little things he does gets me everytime, i think thats why he is one of the most artistic if not the most artistic skater out there

Yuzu confirmed to the reporter that the farewell is for Chrstine!

There's a few pics here and there, from the banquet. After Yan's, there's another pic of Zijun with Yuzu.

Has anyone posted this? Yuzu into fighting mode ready for a boxing!

This may be the news clip about 4 Loop and "bye-bye" to Christine.

Awwwww, Kanako at 01:56! She is so into his program.

This was sweet (and quite sad).
Kanako ask for forgiveness in the k&c and both Yuzu and Mura shake their heads, smile and tell her she did great :')

In SP at worlds, at the beginning when he is gliding on one foot just in front of the judges, he did this small head flick, like he was daring the judges.

It took me hours to get over it. I am not over it now actually.

So, the season has come to an end. Time for Yuzu to take a "real" break!! He still has to have that follow on surgery, rest/recover from that….before he starts a new journey again. Here is my recent blog post. I will still try to post some entries during the off season, hope you will enjoy those too.

Time for us fans to take a mental break as well…to recharge for next season - what is promising to be an AMAZING ride - with Plushenko and Chan back!! While they are "older"…..they still have admirable talent, so it's never safe to count them out!! Of course, Go Yuzu Go!! :)

Same here....I can try to go to TEB if Yuzu will skate there but I think I would be able only to go to Barcelona once again. Tbh it's even better for me - Barcelona is a gorgeous city and there are going to be only skaters form the very very top of current competitors.

Where will the TEB be held? If it's in Paris, I might actually be willing to give it a try sometime. There's this awesome little boutique store that sells the most gorgeous clothes which I'd love to visit again. Oh yes, and seeing the figure skating would be cool, too!

This year TEB will be held in Bordeaux like last year. The city is not as glamorous as Paris but you can eat awesome canelés there ^^

Edit: yuzu has been spotted fixing

his pants
... lols ~

Don't know if this has been posted or not, but it's

This is the WTT FS from a different angle that Japanese TV broadcast, including a good shot of the

"bye-bye" to Christine. It amazes me how he can avoid zayaking and be so absorbed into his choreography too!

This "bye bye" has brought FS in WTT to be NO.1 performance of the season for me!

Loved when they played POTO at the victory ceremony when Japan was called! Yuzu's face!

New interview with Hanyu-san

hopefully a full translation will come out soon (I have very iffy Japanese) , but some points of note:

- no 4loop next season at this point

- still want to try 3 quads in the FP next season

- they asked him about Plushenko coming back. He said as a fan he is happy to see what new programs he will bring. But that doesn't change anything for

himself.

It is said Yuzu, Mura, Kana, and Satoko will give special team performance today!

Oh, btw, anyone knows what Yuzuru said when he introduced Javier? (Damn it I should learn Japanese) Thanks in advance
