Yes it seems like he is a knight errant to the TJ women, i.e., helping Mao out when she was placed in an awkward situation as to whether to hug PM Shinzo Abe as yhmafan previously noted; making sure that Cathy gets her due from the audience in her last gala appearance in competition. Actually, I wouldn't mind if he will portray a knight in a future program as he obviously has a romantic streak in him, besides other knightly attributes.

Here is a translation of an article on Yuzuru in Yahoo! Japan Sports.

First he said “Well then, let’s have fun/let’s enjoy this”, then directly after the FP he said “This was fun” and then he repeats it a bit more emphasized. In the end he says something like “Wow, so many people are here”

2009 National Championships FS. Due to him not doing well in the SP, his FS was not broadcast that year; but due to popular demand, a single camera version was shown recently. In typical Yuzu style, he made a mistake at the beginning, but came back strong in the second half. Rising from 13th to 6th place over-all.

I was one of such lucky audience at Osaka Nats in 2009.

At that Nationals, all audience could see which skaters Fuji TV was planning on-air and which other skaters not, because when TV cameras doing record and Takeshi Honda doing commentary, big screen at the arena showed it. I remember Fuji TV did record Yuruzu in SP but since he didn't do well and palced 13th which means he had to skate in the second group for free, I saw no camera crue standby and no one at play-by-play commentary table. I was so sure Yuzuru will come back strong in the free, so I told my husband; 'oh they are gonna regret hell a lot if not recording this kid's free...'

Yuna seems so happy to see Yuzuru. And Yuzuru, really, how could she forget you ?

For Tsuzuki sensei, well, basically he said that Yuzuru and Yuna have common point : Yuzuru hates losing (and so is Yuna), they are "complete type" of people. [not sure how to translate the "完全主義者" in english. Someone ? ].
And as Yuzuru, Yuna aims for things and keep going for her goal.

I think "完全主義者" (or "完璧主義者") can be translated to "perfectionist".
It is someone who sets a very high level goal or standard for himself to achieve and does't allow himself to make any mistakes. (sounds like someone we know,right?)

I don't know if you guys can see the gif file moving on your laptop/PC because the gif is heavy (it doesn't work on some computer). But apparently there's a story, I remember someone said Yuzuru was cold to the fans at GPF, but here he accepted their gifts, nodded to them and even walked backwards to show his respect. One of the fans who gave him gifts was my friend. In short, he tries to be polite and grateful even when he is tired.

He is definitely the most polite and sweet person I have ever met.

I was seeing this on twitter...seems like there was a TV program about costume makers and this gentleman did Hanyu-san's PW and Chopin costume. He is 90 years old! Fans also spied a newspaper article of sort in his office (if you can read Kanji you can see that in the picture); it says "Hanyu Gold"! I am not sure if he is also the designer too. Maybe someone has more info?

Thank you!! There is only one thing, I think, that he could improve as a person, and it's to be kinder to himself and take care of his health, it'd make our lives and definitely his mother's life easier...?

I agree with you.
Yuzuru won the hearts of so many people not only because of his artistry on ice but because he is a gentleman, very kind with everyone, so modest and so polite.
Don't listen to the haters. He is THE PRINCE OF ICE no matter what they said. He is on other level of skating but they don't want to see.
He managed to get over an earthquake, so many injuries, that horrible collision at CoC, surgery, a sprained ankle and even after all this he got a silver medal at Worlds (that medal is like a gold for me). That tell us so much about his strenght and natural talent.
