Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Strange enough, it did not work first time. But, it worked after retried from the link of the thread.
Thank you for sharing.

Yuzuru looked tired, but still very polite. He never be indifferent to his fans, excepting the time when he is too concentrating. Fans should refrain from disturbing him at that time, if they are real fans. He is an athelete. That's what we should not forget, I believe.

Oh, We are totally safe, in Kanto area, by the way. I heard an old man was injured in Tohoku, but not so serious. We had a smaller earthquake again in Kanto area in the evening. But nothing serious either. If no tsunami coming, Japan is rather quake resistant :agree:
Thank you for your kind consideration always.

I am glad you are safe! :) I wish all in Japan and all over the world to be safe, it's the most important thing !

Yes at first, I was a bit cowed and speechless I must say... (+ the japanese fans and TV staring at me like "what's this?") but it was a really nice moment !

I'm glad you got to meet him in person.
I've been to 2 competitions so far, but I've never gotten close. --But I'm not the type that likes to meet celebrities 'face to face'. It seems like it's breaking an invisible wall that is supposed to be there. That's just me, of course.

In case you didn't know, the tickets for Skate America went on sale today. Here is the link to purchase tickets. The event is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Also, for Skate Canada, they have been selling since November of last year, and are over 50% sold. Here is the link. It is in Lethbridge, Alberta…and the Enmax Center is a smaller rink.

Thanks! I was just wondering when the tickets to Skate America would go on sale. I already got the tickets to Skate Canada and will be think about going to America too.

I was seeing this on twitter...seems like there was a TV program about costume makers and this gentleman did Hanyu-san's PW and Chopin costume. He is 90 years old! Fans also spied a newspaper article of sort in his office (if you can read Kanji you can see that in the picture); it says "Hanyu Gold"! I am not sure if he is also the designer too. Maybe someone has more info?

:agree: Both costumes were made beautifully and really suited his programs. He must tell us what kind of magical fabric he used for the Chopin one though

I'm waiting for the GP announcements to be made, so I know whether to buy tickets for SA or not...:hopelessness: But by then, all the good seats will be taken. sigh\

Its also great to hear that our friends in Japan are doing okay

Yup, I got tickets for both, and hopefully Yuzu will be assigned to at least one of them. If not, I also have tickets to Worlds so will at least get to watch him try to recapture his world title. Should be very exciting.

I was a disappointed that Yuzu didnt go to SC or SA this season and I went to both of those events...but still had a fabulous time watching all the other skaters. I even got to meet Javi and Brian (who got seated next to me at The Keg restaurant) and a number of other skaters as well. I was very lucky.
You just never know.....

wow! he's done a great job. I adore both costumes (something that doesn't happen quite often :drama:)

You just never know.....

Just a random question, the individual event tickets for Worlds have not been released yet, right? Because as much as I want to see everything, I can't miss that many days at college so I was just planning on getting tickets for the Men's FS (if I get the Ladies' FS it's a bonus).

I do think there is a big chance that he will do either SC or SA this season. Regarding the first half of GP series, I feel like Cup of China is the last option for him due to the time difference. Milwaukee is closer to Toronto which is better for me so I'd better get tickets for SA soon.

Last I heard they are aiming for fall release date for the individual tickets.

I never never know what to say to skaters when I see them during competition week. I was in the same airport waiting area with a few, in the same parking lot with some, and also walked by a few when the street was completely deserted except for us...still I didn't say anything! Too self-conscious to just go and say "Hi", I guess. Overall they are super chill and very "normal", including those around them, but I imagine things are very different when Mr. Hanyu is concerned...

I think I would also be too self-conscious to say anything, probably take a snapshot of them, but might have a hard.time gathering courage to actually talk to them!

But I guess if it's Yuzu, I'll somehow gather enough courage to talk? Well, provided I really get to meet him anyway .......

Correct, they are only selling All Event packages right now. Single event tickets will be released sometime in the fall.

Something to clear up the misunderstood from GPF: http://chibura.tumblr.com/post/118862463755/to-see-the

I don't know if you guys can see the gif file moving on your laptop/PC because the gif is heavy (it doesn't work on some computer). But apparently there's a story, I remember someone said Yuzuru was cold to the fans at GPF, but here he accepted their gifts, nodded to them and even walked backwards to show his respect. One of the fans who gave him gifts was my friend. In short, he tries to be polite and grateful even when he is tired.

He is definitely the most polite and sweet person I have ever met.
I was there, too. I hear your friend calling his name and he went to them taking the gifts with his smile.
I record the moment,too.

Thank you both, so I'll wait for the crazy ride that will be getting those tickets. Hopefully I'll get to see Yuzuru compete once, he's the main reason why I want to go

Haha, I'm quite the opposite, I love meeting "celebrities" especially skaters, to see how they are off-ice (sometimes very... instructive. Even if not always in the good way),and to thank them for all beautiful moments we live thanks to them !! And in this particular case... Yuzu is Yuzu  this short meeting was in a cold parisian evening, it has been a real struggle to find him but as I said at this moment ... "Yuzu is here! In Paris! I'm quite sure he won't come back to France for a while! I can't let him fly back without meeting him *fire in the eyes* , hahaha !
