Skaters on Team Japan

ohhhh noo, he seemed like a sweet guy at WTT and i really liked him

If it is the usual 'Fed want to have a Japanese pair for Olympics' then I am actually annoyed. Why didn't they decide these things before putting a young couple through competing this far?

If mutual choice, then okay but I wonder why since they seemed to do well at WTT and have some promise as they are very young still.

It's just a rumoured split -- I haven't really heard anything from the JP media outlet here. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. :| I was just wondering if anyone had news or a good/reliable source regarding that rumour.

I can see it happening in the future though, because Japan has strict citizenship laws, and even marrying a Japanese won't give you citizenship.

Latest clip from "Sporto"!
Wakababy is doing 3Lz3Lo! She's adding to her program next season.
Yuna Aoki and her coach Tsuzuki-sensei!
Marin Honda currently practicing 3A everyday. And if she could, she want to add to her new program(2nd half of the season)!

Impressive!!:cheer2:

Yuna has huge 2A, I think she has more chance to get the 3A than Marin.
Marin's axel is not that good.

^ Marin's 2A is pretty big as well, when she's on. The 3A attempt in this clip looked messed up (not nearly enough speed on the entry and not enough spring on the take-off), but the 3A/4S attempts that were shown in an earlier video looked promising. (On an unrelated note, I loved her 3S-1L-3F and 3F-1l-3S combos that she posted on Instagram. Awesome ice coverage!)

I'm not sure if it's wise for all the young ladies to concentrate on 3-3L combos... The technical callers might be merciful when they are novices/juniors, but the "carrots" are gonna pop up like mushrooms once they turn senior.

I can't find anywhere a decent 2A from Marin. And even when she lands it her 2A looks nothing near huge as Wakaba and Yuna.
Yuna should go for that 3A, 3lz3lo combo seems UR on the 3Lo.

In last November, Yuna said she's already landing fully rotated 3A in practice:)
But she's still working on her second 3T.

Does anyone have any news about the rumoured split of Koga/Bordeau-Audet? :(

Awwww he looked so sweet, and really handsome! Hopefully they get to stick together and Canada will release him.

If they split, wonder if Kirahara (sp?) will be paired with Koga?

I have no knowledge of pairs, but people since to think that Kieahara pairs elements aren't very good.

According to a news release by JSF, there is a prospect that Kihara will pair up with a Jpn skater based on a tryout. It seems Kihara agreed with a premise for the new pair to train in the US. The news also reports that Takahashi Narumi is in search of a partner of foreigner.

JSF needs to get it together :disapp: The pairs situation is a mess, and with the Cathy being retired, I'm worried the same thing will happen with ice dancing :hopelessness: At this rate, in 2018 they'll just stick 2 skaters together last minute...

oh, that's good news, thank you. I like Kihara as a person and wish him lots of sucess.

Narumi looking for a foreign as a partner will be troublesome, she will once again find herself in a position where she can't represent Japan

This, as much talent as Japan has in the singles department, in pairs and dance they don't do much and seem to care very little for it.

My Russian friend (from Russian source) said JSF is asking for Yuko Kawaguchi's help. And she is preparing some report/research in pair for JSF.
She might becom a great pair coach for JSF once she retires. She has learned from the best you know. And she has major in coaching. Hopefully she will help them well in pairs.
