Yuzu did a video message for Tour de Tohoku, cheering for the riders and encouraging the victims of 2011. No video yet, just a picture.

I really like the message for this event

We all have different aspirations
For cycling in Tohoku,

Keeping the memory of the Earthquake alive,
In hope that through the race, Tohoku would thrive,
A road may be built, for future generations to drive.

The road to recovery we will embrace,
Local delicacies we will taste.

It may be a fight with our inner selves
Or just a fun time we share ourselves.

But in this place we will gather
Possibilities we’ll grasp together.

To future we shall pedal
And that will be our medal.

"Yuzu's jersey (autographed) will publicly be in auction. The money will be donated to Yahoo! Foundation (Tour de Tohoku Foundation)."

"Tour de Tohoku" is an event cycling in Tohoku. The organizers are Kahoku Shimpo Publishing and Yahoo Japan. There are 3,500 participants this year and they will ride to five courses in Tohoku areas. All courses are designed for participants to fully embrace Sanriku’s magnificent nature with beautiful sceneries along the coastline while witnessing the current situation of the disaster affected areas."

"Example for reference. With his autograph, this mini towel of Tokyo candidate city for 2020 Olympics was sold 153,000 yen last year. Total 102 persons participated in auction. And its original price just was 600 yen."

It was at the end of February in 2011, a bit before the Tohoku disaster, I(Takasu) carried out a test on the ice rink Sendai for a 2WD bicycle preparing putting it on the market.
The bicycle was satisfying and I was smiling. At the time, a skater (yuzu) seeing me asked me to give him a try. I said OK, so he rode it and stepped the pedals happily.
At that time I had no idea this boy was actually Hanyu.

After three years, watching Hanyu at the gold medal parade in Sendai, I realized that boy had been Hanyu! I was looking for that pictures taken three years before, and found only two original pictures. These are the pictures.

Here are my two attempts at capturing Yuzu's ina bauer as a composite image. I'm still looking for just the right video, willing to take suggestions if you all have ideas.

He even practiced the removal of the jacket , luckily no one trip on it lol. He really made the ladies that were filming/watching very happy .

Awwww. I'd love to see him do a spiral in an LP. But then he'd probably have to give up the ina bauer and it's so diffucult to choose between a spiral and an ina bauer.

I think he could do both, one after the other, but that would require him to take the whole rink and to do it in the LP only. Or one and the other later on in the program. And, of course, to have the right choreography and music to have both fitting in. Mmm...:think:

It would probably be easier for his back, but for selfish reason, I really hope he doesn't. His Biellmann is really beautiful. Replacing the ugly A spin with the "I" or "Y" one would be nicer.
But if the Biellmann give him too much back trouble in the future, yes, he'll need to replace. At least, for a time.

He should throw the idea out there at the choreographer, it could be amazing if syncced with the music, especially one after another!

If you're talking about the A spin, I agree. He also keeps his legs straight, which makes it more pleasing to the eyes...there's really nothing worst than a bent A spin :disapp:
