Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Ha!! GOOD IMPORTANT questions!!! Hello, I love you from him is really my weakness...
4T3T3A3A lol i love his way of overcompensating ;)

They said he wore a white tank-top underneath, there was a scramble for the shirt...of course!
It won't be aired...unless in a small newsclip. Too bad.

4T-3T-3A-3A? That's....rare. I don't think we've ever seen him jump that kind of combo/seq with a 3T. I think the last time we saw him jump 4T3T was in 2011-2012.

And I LOVE that he did Hello, I love you! He's really channeling his inner rockstar and seems to be having some well deserved fun this off-season. I saw some tweets that said they saw TV cameras there today, so maybe they'll broadcast sometime in the future. *crossing fingers*

thanks for the report!! i so wanna see today's performance! i wanna see quad battle and crazy combo he did :bang: i hope there will be video, news etc.
and do you guys think there is any possibility that he will do rock theme programs for next season and thats why he brought back these 2 ex numbers??

Highly doubt it.
Javi used rock SP last seson. Top skaters shouldn`t copy one another.
I think something like Totentanz, Carmina Burana or Bolero for SP and piano or violin classic for FS this season.

Thanks ^^ any reports from the second EX? was it believe again?

It was believe again,

I'm just back from Makuhari.
My seat was so good (since I won the lottery!) that I could see Yuzuru and other skaters very well. His jumps were not "on" today, but everything else was great.

Talking about "believe", I thought his costume color was better than I saw on my computer screen. Still, I prefer "Hello, I Love You", because I am not a fan of his programs skating to Japanese pop music(except "Change", they look almost same to me).
It was the last show at Makuhari, so some skaters looked little tired, but still a great show.

Thanks for your report. Did he fall in his programs?
Did he really do the Crazy Combo at the very end? 4T3T3A3A?

You couldn't pay me to get caught up in the middle of that...

Hoping for more videos! (But regardless, thanks everyone for all the links!) I'm really liking this fun and upbeat stuff that Yuzuru's doing...maybe we'll see a competition program like that from him in the future? *fingers crossed*

3 scoops on Yuzu: something about his 4L, something about the way he trains, and something about his 3A. Watch to find out ;)

Thanks Terrapin !

But I don't know why he said Yuzuru landed a 4L for the first time in practice the day before the WTT gala...He did 4L before, last summer I think ?(or I made a mistake ?)

Skatefan22 = About Mao, he said she was the first woman to land a 3A in offical competition. And he added that in skating history only 6 woman was (are) able to land 3A because it's such a difficult jump.

IIRC, there's even a video of him landing the 4Lo during summer. It says 'road to 2018' across the image, maybe they didn't have it.
The first woman? Guess he got a little mixed up with the names

Humm...maybe my translation is bad  Sorry
He rather said "Mao is one of the 6 womans who landed 3A in competition". Maybe. A japanese speaker could correct me ?

Maybe they were talking about him landing the 4L for the first time since he was at the venue or something, because yes he definitely landed it before ^^

As for Mao's 3A: didn't he say something about watching her do her 3A once and then being able to copy it or something? But then I'm not to be trusted too much either, my understanding of Japanese is not very reliable ^^

Yes that's right, I understand the same (2 not so reliable people = 1 reliable speaker xD).
And he even said when he saw Mao's 3A for the first time, he thought "ah, ok, it's not that difficult" and right after he landed his 3A, on the first try. Just like that. So amazing

Thanks, ficelle! That "ah, ok, it's not that difficult" part is just so Yuzuru.

I am sure he landed 4Loop last summer. Oda even talked about this with Yuzu in an interview (starting 04:00).

I am glad that everyone here (staying) in Japan is safe from the pretty scary earthquake actually that was even longer and bigger than usual.

By the way, Such great reports Pamina and hamaguri! Thank you for sparing your time for us.

Pamina, as for the report of the ice show with some pictures, it gave me a good laugh, hope your safe trip to go back to your home town then I could expect to get more baits from you cause it’s very fun to read. ;)

and hamaguri, well said that you mentioned about Yuzuru.

What I want to say is Yuzu is special. Yuzu is only one. At “Believe”, he skated with a huge amount of emotion. In this makuhari FaOI pamphlet, yuzu said about his emotion like this, “In competitions, I have to control my emotion. But in shows, I can let my emotion go.” When he lets his emotion free, yuzu was incredible. I thought he was like a MONSTER. No one in the world could have such an enormous amount of emotion like yuzu. His passion and big aura filled the whole venue. This harmonized with his beautiful movement and body.. All of them created a magical moment. Just breathtaking.

I was able to realize it even to watch only on TV, just as you say, he is one of a kind, that’s all I had kept feeling inside of me through the screen (especially when he skates to Believe), I think it’s not just because I am a his fan.

Thank you for all the fan accounts

Some more photo from FaOI from Newscom http://www.newscom.com/nc/clearOpenSearch.action Type Yuzuru Hanyu in the search bar to pull up the photos. So handsome :drama:

Thank you for the link, Seriously when he got that hot??
I like that Believe costume when he's moving on the ice that’s a beautiful view indeed even if the tropical mango color might not be a his color.

As for Mao’s 3A
He said about it in another interview, at during the training He keeps watching what she’s landing triple axles so he was able to picture and feel the sense of it unconsciously then he’s trying to embody her jumps with his body while imagining it, thus he ended up being able to land a 3A.
