We don't know about that. No doubt Patrick has a good program, but we haven't seen Yuzu, Javi nor Denis yet. We can still be surprisied. :yes:
I hope we'll get something finished soon. But so far so good, I honestly don't think his costume could be ruin by one or two additions.Thanks so much for the information!
I had a feeling his costume is not finished when I first saw it. Though it's stunning, the large area of plain silver/white will probably have difficulty in bringing out his slim figure on ice, snowy white ice......
Idk but he might want to add something here and there...... and seriously, I am worrying about this too

He looked exhausted yesterday night after the program also. I believe he really needs time to catch the timing for jumps as he always tends to sync the elements with the music. Only referring to my experience last evening, the second 4T and 3A were quite affected by the size of rink though. He almost had no speed to get into the 2 jumps as he was really closed to us when those were coming.

I've been mainly lurking recently, but I feel like shouting "Thank you, Yuzuru! You made my dream come true!" today.
Since he was a junior, I've been thinking Japanese ancient attire really fits Yuzuru and some day, he should do one of Japanese ancient characters, no matter whether the person really existed or is just a character in fantasies/myths.

But Japanese traditional kimonos aren't suitable for skating so I've convinced myself I have to wait until he becomes a pro show skater. And Abe-no-Seimei is my favorite person in many novels and movies! So I'm, you know, reeeeeeeeally happy!
BTW, I have a trivia about Abe-no-Seimei.

五芒星 has been assumed to be a special shape working as a charm to avert disasters and evil spirits in Onmyou-Do ( the Way of Yin and Yang) since ancient times in Japan, because the star shape represents the Five Elements in Universe---tree, fire, earth, gold, water.
And Abe-no-Seimei, the most famous Onmyoji (master of Onmyo-Do) in Japanese history, also used the 五芒星 as the crest of his family.
The 五芒星, the pentagram on the back of his costume, hopefully seems to me as if it's keeping Yuzuru away from all kinds of disasters this year.
I'm maybe becoming a little bit superstitious after worrying too much about his hard time last season.
Anyway, I'm really glad he looks healthier and more powerful now.

Yes, Yuzuru's decision to skate to a very Japanese music was daring but definitely in a good way. We're all happy about this.
Looking foward to seeing the full program. Even if we can't have a full version yet, it will already be a treat (even with the fall, we have the reasons, no need to worry for now).I hope too that this year will go smoothly with no problem and accident. He had learned the lesson this past season.
Just a suggestion, but if he could change the color of the gloves...I don't like the current ones, it's strange. The color is the same as his skin, it's troubling. Maybe green or violet ones will be better ? :think:

No, really ?! Another good news ! (guys, this week seems so unreal ! Too much good news xD)
It will be great if he can use "Believe" for the next season. At first I was a bit skeptical with this EX, because it's *again" another J-pop song etc... and well, you know, it tends to be a bit boring. But I changed my mind after watching it.
Guys, I just found out that Che'Nelle also released Believe -English Version, so if Yuzu feels reluctant to use that EX in the competition outside Japan because it has Japanese lyrics, he can use the English version, everyone must see this gold <3
Oh that changes things, kind of like with FTT where he decided to use the English version to perform it at international competitions. I'm so glad to hear this, it's a really beautiful EX.
On another thing, I can't begin to say how happy I am that Yuzu is getting more and more consistent on landing the 4S at his performances. I always thought it was a mental thing, hopefully he's past that now. Oh and, from the bits we've gotten on the news clips, it could be that the layout is easier or that the choreography isn't complete yet, but to me, it seems that his posture has improved tremendously. I think he is showcasing that line that makes him so unique and it's necessary to perform a program like this. I can't wait until he see the final outcome, why must the off season be so long?

I love how Yuzu chose to title it SEIMEI, from a aesthetics standpoint it looks really nice.
Since there was discussions earlier about his opening/ending pose, if you watch this video, it appears that Shae-Lynn and Yuzuru decided to interpret Seimei's Onmyouji "Dance" in his choreography. The opening move is taken directly from this dance, and I would need to watch the entire program first but it appears as if Yuzuru is trying to cast a spell over all those who are watching him. Its really beautiful and enchanting almost.

June is almost over, I hope Yuzuru go back to Canada soon so he have tiem to work in both programs.
Seimei sounds like a very ambitious program and I hope we can see a perfect version of it.

Just want to say something here because I saw something very unpleasant towards my work (assuming some of you already recognized my ID).
I am not the one who wrote "former Olympic champion". I always use reigning Olympic champion. I couldn't check the online article right after it was posted and pointed out the mistake earlier, because I had been working on writing the article until 5 o'clock in the morning, and couldn't stay up any more after submission and a few words with the editor. I only admitted one mistake in the article which I made, is that I misspelled Mura's name. The other one I found, "three performances" for the show wasn't written by me either, I knew there would be four from the beginning but I couldn't stay up to check.
And the feeling that the words don't sound like him doesn't mean he didn't say it. Not perfect translation? Sure. Inaccurate wording? Some, as someone already pointed out. Wrong translation? I don't think so, at all. Like what I wrote in my blog today, during the translation process to make the points clearer, or fit the English structure better, or to be more logical (as sometimes skaters' words are not the most well-organized), sometimes I intentionally not to use the exact apple to apple translation, but make slight adjustment based on how I understand what the skater means.
So, I cannot accept the accusement of not checking freelance author's work, and being mad at what you don't want to believe it is what he said.

I believe in you, Panda. You have been there during the time Yuzuru got the most attacked. I still remember.
Let's me tell you guys a cute story to brighten it up. In a group on Facebook we have a girl from Romania. She told us her mum also became a fan after watching Yuzuru at Sochi. She said her mum was heartbroken when Yuzuru lost at Shanghai.
On YouTube there were some comments and they were kind of upsetting about Yuzuru (like they thought Yuzuru as a winning machine or something). Her mum didn't understand their language but she used Google translate and she found out what they said, so she was angry and she spent a whole day arguing with those haters on YouTube. She said something like: "You guys don't deserve him. You guys are so heartless, look at the poor boy he has tried so hard. He is the bravest."
But the most hilarious is, she typed in... Romanian language lol. So no ones understand what she was arguing all alone.

I'm sorry that you received undeserved criticism, and thanks for sharing your side of things. Talking specifically about the criticism of your translation, I'm afraid fans (not just of figure skating, but of anybody or anything) can often be overly biased and thus hurtful. I'm ashamed to admit that I sometimes act the same way towards translations; most recently, for example, I ranted to my mother about how much I hated the English translation of Le Petit Prince from the original French version. I know my example is kind of irrelevant, but anyways, you pointing out the problems that can arise from translating between languages really struck a chord with me, and I have to agree; between two different languages, you can't expect meaning to be captured perfectly. Again, the sincerest apologies for any hurtful comments.

Some people just see the modest side of Yuzu. Actually he is always a bold kid. For example, "I think I may be the only current Japanese male skater that can skate a programme that is so full of japanese elements" -- very Yuzuru. And I love it!
First of all I must apologize for the "former" OG champion matter which is not your fault.
I do appreciate much for information, news, resources and all the meaningful pieces provided by anyone. Personally, I think Yuzuru really said that as I have also mentioned, it's not about being humble or not. He just simply said that which was not offensive at all. That's only a statement. I regard that's a fair comment to himself. Anyway, he said it, no big deal.
I do think the translation is not precise, yet nobody has made up anything in an ill intention or having wrong translation. As you has found, those were spelling (or somewhat) mistakes, the article looks fine now, great thanks for that again.
As long as I have left journalism for a certain period of time, huge gap there about the operation, specifically to the online media, but still be frank, there's always a room for improvement, isn't it?
I have to say sorry again for your hard feeling - look like myself have to stop this topic here so it's not bothering the others anymore.
