Just want to say something here because I saw something very unpleasant towards my work (assuming some of you already recognized my ID).
I am not the one who wrote "former Olympic champion". I always use reigning Olympic champion. I couldn't check the online article right after it was posted and pointed out the mistake earlier, because I had been working on writing the article until 5 o'clock in the morning, and couldn't stay up any more after submission and a few words with the editor. I only admitted one mistake in the article which I made, is that I misspelled Mura's name. The other one I found, "three performances" for the show wasn't written by me either, I knew there would be four from the beginning but I couldn't stay up to check.
And the feeling that the words don't sound like him doesn't mean he didn't say it. Not perfect translation? Sure. Inaccurate wording? Some, as someone already pointed out. Wrong translation? I don't think so, at all. Serious sources will take and accept criticism and appreciate it, because your work will stay online forever. And do you wish it remained the one filled with mistakes or you prefer the right one?
Now if you didn`t have time to check it. Ok, so you say icenetwork editor is not professional and mix facts (like former Oly champ etc).
But it`s your article under your name. You take responsibility for good and bad. And knowing that you should check your work.
That`s what called being professional.
And btw editor once more gives wrong impression with a photo in PW saying he performs Seimei. One would think that this move is from his new FS. Oh well, why even bother?
I don`t understand some people calling it "undeserved criticism" or "some fans are biased".
Writing blog and writing for official sources is not the same.
In official sources information should be correct, because readers trust it mostly blindly. If one article is wrong how to trust others? How to think that team belong to professionals who take responsibility for their work?
Deadline is not excuse when it comes to one`s reputation.
Criticism is not the end of the world but a tool to become better in your career.
