I realy liked waltz part but after the music change RJ, I lost the feel of the program. It become too dramatic with big faces and arm movements from Bobrova. I don't like it.
Just watch Bobrova/Soloviev's skating before and after the lift.
Only If their free dance is good as that, they can stay as russian number1.

Okie dokie, final overall impressionsnow that Christmas came early...
LADIES:
Julia was my favorite in this group which kind of surprised me and made me really happy. It was great to see her skating with real expression and with solid jumps again. I also just really enjoyed the program it was fun.
Tukt was next in terms of pure enjoyment. I agree with others that the program will be a monster when she adds the triple axel- and I do love Russian high drama
I enjoyed Radionova but feel like her program can definitely grow still. I think somber music is a little less convincing on her than upbeat happy music but she is growing as a performer and is exciting.
The rest are more or less meh to me in these programs, sorry to say, though that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy seeing them all
MEN:
I'm also in the Vornov is the only one I really care about club, and I really enjoyed him a lot!
DANCE:
Yanovskaya/Mozgov were BY FAR my favorites in this group which was a total shock to me as throughout their junior careers they have repeatedly bored me to tears. I think this program is thoroughly awesome and can't wait to see their long. They are really maturing.
Bobrova and Sloviev were well put together and I really enjoyed their program and it's tone.
I/Z I think have a lot of potential but the program needs work and doesn't grab me yet like their Carmen did. I do like that they made a bold choice in the music.
The others I didn't really care much for. They were all fine but nothing else stood out.
PAIRS:
Disappointed in everyone but Stoblova/Klimov (though I wish they seemed in better technical shape) and Kavugati/Smirnov, who quite frankly could skate to their own interpretation of watching paint dry and have me enraptured, so I might be a bit biased. V/T look good for being out a year but the program doesn't grab me yet. Tarasova/Mozorov have potential but it's also bot there yet for me.
The others are blah.

But watch the feet in their RW closely. Everything looked good up top, but they weren't getting through the steps cleanly.

Me too, but i wish they change the twizzles.
Watching these couples from behind and not so close as it is usually at TV, it was really useful, cause i realized that what stands out for I/Z is her facial expression and not the movement of their bodies which is not all right for ice dance.

Didn't you watched their FD?
Leonova has a very attractive program, in my opinion. It's so different in style from the rest and I have a weakness for girls donning trousers/leggings. The execution was rough though.

Unfortunately, this probably doesn't bode well for her. She was performing this SP great most of last season, so to see it getting worse is concerning. Hope her new FS program is something that works well for her.

What do you mean by her facial expressions but not body movement nonsense? If I only want to see facial expressions I can watch Anna Capellini or Barbara Fusar Poli or Bobrova or Madison Chock. Why do you think I love to watch Ilinykh? Because I can watch her edges, her knee work all day. Capellini, Weaver, Chock fighting for world medals and some fans reducing Ilinykh's skills to facial expresions is just unbelievable

Another video of I/Z. When did Ruslan get so good? I never ever thought I'd see Elena being outshine by her partner and yet here we are! And it's not that she regressed, he's just grown so much.

That's a shame because she's a bit of a stylistic departure from the rest of the field, there something to be said for a more experienced skater.

I mean the speed, the deep edge, the ice coverage... you can see it and you can even measure it. A thing subjective as "opinion" doesn't work here, it's like you're denying that Patrick Chan is one of the best at SS even though some people have measured and calculated his speed on ice to be 7m/second into the jump.

I am not a judge so i am entitle to have opinions as a simple viewer.
Looking at them from behind and distance today, i realized that she, in my opinion, doesn't use her body to fully express the music, i found her heavy on the ice, stiffed. Ruslan is better at this respect. The speed- they didn't have spectacular speed, good edges- i think, at this level, almost everyone there has... so for me, it was more important how they express the music, how they DANCE.
I really like Ilinykh but i think she is overhyped, especially after the last year split.
