Hopefully just the first medal of more to come this season!
I don’t know why but I shed tears when I saw her FS. Please stay wonderful like that this season.:yay:Congratulations Rika on your gold!I don’t know why but I shed tears when I saw her FS. Please stay wonderful like that this season.:yay:

As for costume, I like both her costumes though I prefer her SP costume. and I actually like Yulia’s FS costume, that shining and beautiful blue well suits her in my eyes.![]()

Thank you! I love your photos and how you avoid the unflattering moments for skaters
I was just looking at Rika's chances of getting into the GPF this year again and realizing she has a tough line up ahead. She will be competing against Mao, Anna P. and Elena R at CoC, while at Rostelecom she is against Polina, Elena R. again, Adelina and Evgenia. Even after Skate America she still has my two fave ladies programs this season. Hope she makes it there!

Her target score this season is 190... and with clean skates she can definitely hit that and surpass it (she nearly did it at Finlandia). But even a huge score like 190 may not be enough against the likes of Asada, Radionova and Medvedeva... and Pogorilaya is looking very strong too and gaining momentum this season, judging from her two Challenger events earlier this month.
She may need some luck, like last year... maybe a LOT of luck given Miyahara, Gold, Tuktamysheva and a few others may be racking up the points in the other GP events. But ice is slippery, who knows what might happen... and Rika seems to make her own luck: She is strong, dynamic and consistent, and she puts herself in a position where the cards can fall in her favour. And she has two GREAT programs this year. She can put a lot of pressure on the other skaters.
My only worry is her lutz edge... seems it still needs more work: we watched her practices at Finlandia, and at one point she did a huge lutz right in front of us. I could clearly see the tracks she left in the ice afterwards, and the curve of the outside edge for the lutz straightened out (or even changed to an inside edge) before takeoff. Lutz edge violations are very costly... :-/
