Aww, thanks for the warm welcome back, everyone. Don't worry, nothing happened to me. Just decided to take a break during the off season.
So, um... Liza competes tomorrow, I think? I confess, I haven't even seen her SP yet. Hopefully it'll be a pleasant surprise.

It is sometimes good to take a break away from things for a while. For example, I like taking a complete break from the internet for a week or so every few months (usually during a major snooker tournament...

Yep, the Coupe de Nice Ladies SP starts at 13:05 CEST today, and Liza is the first skater to go in Group 4. (Entries/Results Page)

I haven't actually seen ANY of Liza's routines yet (well, apart from that gala routine during the summer that caused so much controversy). With so many Junior GP's and Senior B's being held at the same time the past few weeks, I just haven't had a chance to watch anything from the Japan Open yet.
So, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in competition this weekend!
And, as a show of my support, I've now finally gone back to my Liza avatar!
(OK, so I said I would use Carolina until her name was cleared and, strictly speaking, it hasn't been. But this deal to adjust the dates of the ban so that it finishes sooner looks like it is as close as we're going to get...)

Thank you! It is actually the avatar that I used for the second half of last season. And the photo is a screenshot from the 2014 GP Final Gala that sabinfire posted to Facebook.

Have you seen the test skate performance? I haven't watched the Nice SP yet, but it sounds like a really poor skate by Liza standards - and this program really needs energy and Power for it to work. You should watch the test skate one - I'm sure even that performance can be improved upon, but it will give you a better idea, I suspect, of what it can be, and whether you might end up liking it.

No, I haven't had a chance to watch the test skates yet. But, after seeing what Liza was like today, I think I will watch her's.
As you say, I am only judging on a below-par performance. So, it's not really a good guide. And there have been other routines over the years that I haven't liked when I have first seen them, but which grew on me as the season went on.
Hopefully that this will fall into that category.
Unfortunately, I won't see all the Free Skate tomorrow. But, looking at the timetable, I might be able to see most of the final group.
So, hopefully, Liza's Free Skate will be better.

I hope Liza will be better prepared for her GPs. It's not a good thing to lost momentum now, too many strong opponents this season

Yes this is the only thing that worries me about the music choice- like you say, it depends a lot on momentum, and a big part of that is going clean. I think she was also tired today but after the first fall I think it was very hard for her to gain the momentum back that was needed... the fact that none of the other jumps were clean either did not help. I think it might be salvageable with just a mistake or even fall on the axel, but any kind of mistake after that and it is really rough to recover with this music.
