I was actually checking on height the other night - on a whim, my husband and I happened on the topic - and I was surprised to see Jeremy's... I'd thought he was taller, but if the Wikipedia height was correct, he's the same height as Plush and Brian.

Yes and none of those guys are tall. They are all about 5'10" which I guess is maybe a little tall in some Asian countries but in the US it's very average, and presumably Europe too. Personally, I wouldn't consider I guy tall unless they were 6 feet or more, and 6' flat is more like tallish. A lot of ladies skaters actually are in the 5'5"-5'8" range these days though, so they actually are above average height, unlike the men where the ones that seem "tall" are like 5'8"-5'10".
 
My random contribution from Skate America is that Jason really is at least 5'7" and maybe a little bit taller.
 
Speaking of short skaters. Kristy Yamaguchi and Tonya Harding are "Shrimps" I'm talking Grade School Tiny. I knew who they were but I couldn't believe my eyes they were so small. You know who else was small and very thin, Lu Chen. Yikes!!

Jason does look taller. When I watched the Men's FS with my best friend who was in town, she commented "He looked really tall," when she saw Jason skate.

I think Midori Ito is the littlest of the little skaters. She is listed at 1.45 m/4 ft 9 in. For perspective that fits the definitions for Little People of America

Elizabet Tursynbayeva is listed at 1.41 m (4 ft 7 1⁄2 in) but I suspect she will grow a little bit still.

As for heights over all of skaters... well I think part of is that tall guys often get shifted into pairs and dance (seriously, some of the interviews with the pairs guys they seem like they kept skating because they never bothered to stop because they were too easy going) and the little ladies often get encouraged to do pairs and dance. So it kinda makes sense the mens skaters are the shorter ones, and the ladies are the taller ones.

Just heights.

Well, that's okay. Ignore him as you will, you will not be able to much longer...

I think judging how long his legs looks, Josh could be 5'9" or 5'10". I think it's easier to be thin when you train like these skaters and watch what you eat. And let's be honest: It's easier to not be tempted by certain foods when you have a dairy allergy. What can Josh eat at an "In N Out burger" anyway? The fries? A regular hamburger - assuming the bun isn't a problem?

I think the ISU bios overestimate height a lot of the time anyways. Josh being small in person puts into perspective just how small so many of the skaters really are. D10 must be barely taller than Uno if he looks that small to skaters like Josh, Yuzu, and Javi.

According to wikipedia, D10 is 5'6", Han Yan is 5'7", and Josh is 5'10 1/2". I don't know the reasoning behind saying a skater is taller than they actually are.
 
Just got around to watching SA.

Max still looks like he's either deaf or just hates music.
 
Okayyyyyyyyyyyy - back to heights. I'm 5'3" on a good day and Jason is, in fact, only a couple inches taller than me.

I thought Evan always looked gangly when he jumped but because he was relatively slim he was able to get all that in a rotation.

I don't know either but unless they measure some of them in their skates and some out of their skates. I don't get how their height's can be so far off. I stood right next to Josh and there's absolutely no way he was 5'10 1/2"

I trust that "shrimp" was not intended as a pejorative? [Can't discern one's tone from the written word.]

In 2013, Max said that he is 5' 7" "on a good day" ;).

His shorter stature is one of the reasons that Max reluctantly stopped competing in elite hockey. Based on talent and experience, he had a realistic shot at the NHL, but he knew his size would be a dealbreaker.

(But young HockeyMax was fearless against much taller/larger opponents. Cue the videotape:

Ermmm, perhaps you were in heels? Because as someone who's only 5'0" I spend a lot of time looking up at people taller than me, and based on several close up observations over the weekend (eg standing next to him in line or chatting with him on the street) Jason is quite a bit taller than my 5'5" sister, and not far off the height of my brother, who's 5'8"+. And he was in flat athletic shoes each time (I was in flats twice, heels once).
 
Actually I was in tennis shoes and he hugged me several times. My son is 5'7" and I don't think Jason is much taller than that. (not that it matters - he skates tall!) Wiki says he's 5'7" but it appears Wiki isn't necessarily a valid resource. Who knows - maybe he grew since 2014 Nats! :laugh:
