He was given one of Josh's ones - Skate Canada. I'm so glad. I first noticed him when he went to Junior Worlds in 2012, and have had a soft spot for him ever since. :yes:

I think Tom Dickson might have done it, but I'm not sure. Timothy does his own choreography sometimes.

WIkipedia lists his choreographer as Catarina Lindgren, but his ISU bio says Brittany Bottoms. I am curious, too, who did his programs. According to his ISU bio, he composes music and has composed music for some of his programs. I didn't know that--what a talented guy!

He suffered a bad concussion at sectionals last year so his training for nationals got a bit derailed.

He is impressive to see in person. My better half is about six feet tall (so taller than most non pairs skaters) and he kept cringing when he saw Tim fall saying how he feels more empathy for "the tall guys" when they fall - as they have farther to fall i guess. Which is actually pretty funny since Tim is listed as only being 5'7" - he may have grown since then but I still think he carries himself taller than he is. He has a commending presence on the ice... and yes his shoulders are that wide. He also was one that looked like he wanted to be there but was not desperate to be there in that "ohh my god my life is over if i don't win" sort of way. He looked like one of those skaters that enjoys skating and competing for themselves which i enjoy seeing.

I actually stared at him for ages because I thought I recognised him from somewhere. I just didn't think he was a skater at first because he looked so young, like about 14 or so (sorry...). Just as I was whispering to my husband, asking him if he knew where that kid was familiar from, I noticed the team USA jacket and realized who it was. Duh!

Soo many little girls came over to his table to ask for an autograph, it was soooo cute

Most guys who figure skate competitively are on the shorter side still, so at 5'6" or 5'7" Tim wouldn't stand out as being much smaller than the rest of the field and with good posture can have a tall appearance. It seems that ladies skaters are getting taller on average but the guys are still small for the most part, probably because the taller/sturdier guys switch to hockey after a certain age, but for ladies the girls in figure skating probably always intended to be figure skaters (whereas guys may have started skating intending to play hockey but then stick with figure skating if they take to it or are not built right for hockey). I was surprised this weekend how Jason was about the same height as Max, since Jason looks quite tall on the ice and Max looks small and compact. I think posture, limb length, and overall build can make a big difference in how one appears on the ice. Tim's presence almost reminds me of an ice dancer at times, he's great to watch! Hoping he does well this weekend!

Me too! It's amazing how he has such presence on ice, but then he appeared very quiet and unassuming off the ice. It's like he steps on the ice and immediately gets this "halo" around him - that's the only way I can put it into words

Evan was 6'2" and definitely an outlier. Abbott is about 5'10" and Josh about 5'9" I believe, so they are average height but certainly not tall, both just have long lean legs that make them appear taller. It's unusual to see male skaters over 5'11" these days and I'd say the average is probably about 5'7". Some poster called Menshov lanky this weekend which made me laugh because he's only 5'5"! But in the field at Skate America, he didn't even seem that small. I think the thinness of most of these guys combined with the skates makes them seem taller than they really are.

Yes exactly. He jumps well too, so I'm glad he's finally getting some good international assignments. He probably could have done well in pairs or dance as well, though his size definitely would make things harder for finding a partner. I'm hoping he doesn't get lowball scores at SC if he skates well just because he doesn't have a reputation. His technical content may not be consistent enough to compete with the very top guys in the US, but the rest of his skating definitely is. And he did do 4s in the jump competition at Broadmoor, so if he can gain consistency on that and the 3a I think he could be top 4-6 at Nationals.

It seems like lots of skaters are such performers on ice but then really shy off of it. I mean, Shoma and Satoko come to mind because they are both so shy, but also amazing performers.

Evan is definitely the tallest, good jumping skater I've seen. Now Josh, he's my favorite and I can tell you that 5'9" is a VERY generous height for him. I'm only 5'10" maybe 6' in my cowboy boots which I always wear to shows ( That's another story) and Josh was noticeably shorter than I was. Also, I wanted to get that boy an "IN N Out" Burger. He was so thin.......

I think figure skaters often have good proportions, and, since one mostly sees them in isolation on the ice, there is no occasion - and little need - to compare their relative height with anyone else.

I was actually checking on height the other night - on a whim, my husband and I happened on the topic - and I was surprised to see Jeremy's... I'd thought he was taller, but if the Wikipedia height was correct, he's the same height as Plush and Brian.

Well I was just going off what his website and ISU bio says and both have 175 cm listed as his height. I guess that's slightly below 5'9". I think the ISU bios overestimate height a lot of the time anyways. Josh being small in person puts into perspective just how small so many of the skaters really are. D10 must be barely taller than Uno if he looks that small to skaters like Josh, Yuzu, and Javi.
