2015 IceChallenge Men SP and FS

Thanks for this.

Also surprising was that Jason's TES total was a couple of points higher than his component total. I was curious about this, so I checked each judge's scores. Two judges (#4 and #6) scored Jason lowest, giving him under 8 on three components each. Looking for a pattern in their scores, they seem not to have liked this program much and marked him down accordingly.

See my edited post loss of 1.87 points vs SA. Include GOE.

Well I did mine by hand so maybe Stitch if right.

I did mine on line, but i could be wrong too... part of why i listed the individual numbers...hopefully my transcription skills are at least ok if my math is not.

EDIT: I was looking at total/finale numbers with GOE in case it was not clear. Maybe you were looking at base values... this can be looked at a few different ways.

Thank you Stitch & Papagena! It's less than I thought...although full levels would probably also increase the goe?

On the other hand, two judges liked him a lot. J1 gave him 9.0 (trans), 9.25 (PE) and 9.5 (!!! I). J7 gave him 9.0 (PE) and 9.0 (I). Not too shabby.

The British judge likes Jason a lot.

*In Tim Taylor's grunt (For those who know what the TV show "Home Improvement" is)*: URRRRRRRRH?!

Too funny, CKH, but I would have thought that was before your time?

I also cited a "Home Improvement" line a few days ago in another thread "I don't *think* so, Tim." It was Tim's assistant on the show, but I'll be darned if I remember his name. Must be a record for that show on GS.

IAC, woot, Jason! :yay:And who would have thought that Artur Dmitriev, rather than Kolyada, would be in second after the SP?

Also, for those so much more well versed in this system than I, now that I have seen the vid, even I have to say Jason finished well behind the music. More so than in Juke. Does it appear as though there were any scoring ramifications?

God help me, I think the bling on this costume is acceptable; it is good right *now*, hide the glitter gun:laugh:

I think the sound is out of sync on that viewing. If you watch the beginning, he starts moving well after the music starts.

and I can handle the bling level as well

Doris, do they post the judge's scores in random order (eg do we know Judge 7 on the protocols is the US judge? If so, it's the judges from Germany & Austria who didn't like him.

El Henry, I watched the live stream. He finished exactly with the music. That's got to be a synching issue.

Stitch and Papagena, thanks for pointing out that was a syncing issue on the recording; no live stream for me today. Maybe tomorrow, fingers crossed;)

Also, given all the complaining we've done in the last year or two, this costume really fits and shows off his lines beautifully (we got to see those lines quite a lot, since this camera person does not seem to have yet located the zoom feature).

In the GP, scores are randomized. In the JGP they are not. I am not sure which was done here. But the 7th judge scored Jason high and both Russians low, so it is not inconceivable that the 7th judge was American.

It was, and was rewarded appropriately! Does anyone know whether Jason has ever scored that high or higher on a stand-alone triple axel before?

I think it is his new best based Skatedb.net

If you're interested, Jason's SP can be found at about 58.40 of the archived Men's Short Program on the live stream.

OP updated for FS start order and SP scores/livestream link/protocals.

Thanks Mrs P! Looks like there was no draw - start order appears to be based solely on SP results. Well, Jason will need to bring his experience skating last at worlds here - both of the two Russians have quads and could score quite high. Go Jason and Jordan!

Also, according to statsonice.com, his previous ISU personal best 3A score was 10.06 from 4CC 2015.

Other than that he got a 10.07 at Nationals the same year.

The men are starting now!! The time i had on the OP was incorrect (got it from the schedule on the website). Sorry. :slink:
