Those pratically clean practices this early at the season are making me terrified, I swear. :laugh2: I won't be able to watch him live this time, but good luck Yuzuru! :cheer2:

He looked pretty solid in practice. Just a couple early stumbles on the 4T.

The take off is different than were used to seeing. More curved, instead of straight down the ice. Definitely still steps going in but perhaps more simplified.
It seems my wish for less difficult entry has reached him. But of course... He will upgrade it throughout the season. :slink:

Simplifying them is what I mean. Of course he is still doing steps; that's a requirement. But he's doing the usual 3-turn into the 4T now instead of 4T suddenly happening out of nowhere.

That's what I was worried about. Thanks for clarifying.

Its ok!! Its only practice!! If he starts going almost clean in his early competitions then we start to worry!! :drama:

I keep my expectations low. I expect 1 mistake in the short and 2-3 mistakes in the long. If he does better than that in competition, it would be a bonus. If he skates not so well, I won't be disappointed.

Yeah, at this point I just want him be healthy, good enough to make it through to GPF is fine with me...and peak at Nationals and especially Worlds.

Me thinks the same, lol. Practice is practice after all. It's your performance in real competition it counts.

Actually we dont need him to peak for Nationals , he should peak for WC
Oh guys, he looks scary good...I am so excited, but I dont think he will be foot perfect, I expect 1 mistake in short 1/2 in LP

I expect NO MISTAKES IN THE SP (If I will it hard enough, it shall happen!!!!) and 2 mistakes in the LP.

Okie just enough to win Nationals and peak at Worlds :cheer2:

Just. Breathe. Thankfully , I'll be too worried about Uchimura defending his World title for the next few hours to think about Yuzu....but then my worry for Yuzu will sky rocket again.
Goooo Team Japan (gym and skate)! :cheer:

Totally with you here....I'm afraid to check the gymnastics boards....

I actually don't think yuzuru's health is a big issue. All athletes have injuries and health problems. Compared to other Olympic champs last season, yuzuru's health problems were not as bad. Doctors only asked him to rest for a few weeks and he could resue training after a few weeks. The other Olympic champs also got injured but was told by the doctors to rest for a few months and they had to take the whole season off. The main issue yuzuru faced last season was the loss of training time due to multiple injuries and health problems. But the health issues themselves are not as severe as the health problems the other Olympic champs experienced. I don't think he is physically weaker or less healthy than most athletes. Maybe I'm just optimistic.
