Ekaterina Bobrova & Dmitri Soloviev

They look too good to be true  They worked so hard to get back, and all Ekaterina's work without Dmitri is very visible. I'm not talking about her posture only, but also her edges, knees (!), gliding. technically she was the best lady who skated yesterday. Look at their Partial Step Sequence, for example. Almost all the turns is clean on medium and deep edges. They were the closest team to get level 4 for it. But oh well :rolleye:

I agree. I do think to be honest, though it's much better, at some moments her posture could still use a bit of work, but in general, she has really improved as a skater!!

I think this was a very good debut for them. I was a little bit surprised about the PCS, because I thought they should have been closer to W/P. It was probably because of their starting order and B/S seemed a little nervous. B/S are only 1.5 points behind S/S and have a good chance to catch them.

Btw, I see we can like now posts. Cool idea!

Very nice inteview with Dima and Katia:

Dima was so nervous that he 'didn't 'feel' his legs', it's a literal quote. They very glad that they received high marks for such nervous skate, it was far from the best with some minor mistakes. But they're very happy that they haven't made big mistakes  Overall they seem very positive and happy!
Katia called their Saransk experience a 'catastrophe', she felt really bad, and physically wasn't able to skate.

Yay, it's a bronze :)
Judges still are afraid to give them GOE they really deserve, but their PCS is much better than in SD.
They looked satisfied and happy in K&C, that's what important.

I will have to watch for myself, but I do think that it'll take the judges some time to warm back up to them. If they can win Russian Nationals, I'm sure they'll receive a huge PCS and GOE boost.

That was a great comeback after all they've been through. I know they'll get even better throughout the season. :cheer:

First half of my bold prediction went down the drain  But that's ok because this is a championship caliber program. Many people in the ice dance thread were critiquing the ott drama and said it was to put on. Those people (no offense to them) obviously don't know the story of Anna Karenina. Both played their roles well and I expect their scores to get better and better. Well done Katia/Dima, you guys are the best.

Yay for bronze, they're gonna do it much better at NHK and can get into GPF
so, they got 1 deduction for extended lift, could you please tell me which one?

Aw, I'm so torn guys! I loved their FD (and them in general) but I was so hoping for my Shibsibs to do well too. I'll be torn again at NHK cause they'll both be there. What to do...

I believe the first one, the straightline lift. I noticed she had a slight delay getting up into that armstand position.

I love Shibsibs too to be honest :hopelessness:

I felt it was a bit trying too hard, it looked like they desperately wanted to show speed.
So nice to see Bobrova with good posture in places, she looks gorgeous now she is not bent over.
So glad to see them back, I've loved them since the gay sailors, I love crazy!

Thank you very much for posting this!!!

I am a little disappointed they only got the bronze here, but it is okay :) They have a lot of room to grow throughout the season, and I love both their programs. I hope they are satisfied with this and that they will do even better at their next event :cheer:

This is EXACTLY my thoughts. It was spectacle on ice, EVERYTHING from starting poses to ending poses is a part of the story of Anna Karenina. And I love how the dance starts and ends to the sounds of the train. I suspect very few people have read the book.

And I still cringe at Weaver/Poje having higher mark for skating skills  I don't care about other components, but in SS? Really? What a joke.
