Woah! How did you do that? Do you lip-read?

You deserve 330 points! :yahoo:

:laugh2:
I wish..
No but I pretty much paused every few words/sentence (to write/type it down) and repeated every few seconds if necessary (can't listen and then write while listening at the same time) haha. I'm actually surprised I have that much patience to watch/listen and write it down/transcribe..

If we do get the no commentary I'm sure we can hear it just fine and will be able to fill in the blanks haha.

Btw thanks for the score that is HUUUUUGGGEEE!!

Yeah, I have no worries about his performance and its beautiful and I love it..
But seeing him being hard on himself is tough for me .. He sets the bar high and is truly perfectionist.
I really hope he can achieve what he wants tomorrow!

Thanks! Yeah, this performance is beautiful!
About his comeback after the fall, long ago, kart sometimes pointed out that he tended to take too time to come back after falls. But now..:agree:.

Right it kinda hurts to see him being so hard on himself more than the fact that he had a fall. And yes I remember the remark about how he couldn't get straight back up.. I suppose it does suck on one's energy too but he's gotten stronger now that he didn't seem fazed at all by it.

Uh I'm sorry about his ankle and hope it doesn't bother him so much and that the fall didn't aggravate it. Fingers crossed for him!

So it still hurts or over for now? thanks

I don't see if he still feels hurts from the article.. The sentence is short, and just says he felt hurt a few days ago from the competition...it's worrying...

hopefully nothing serious, every sportsmen is used to some pain from time to time, he had no rest, competitions were so close to one another. Hopefully he will rest well before that ice show .. praying for him :ghug:

Yeah, he needs enough rest.. Let's send him a power!:ghug:

I'm actually kind of relieved (?) he fell. Another perfect SP would have built up more expectations and sort of anxiety regarding 'when is he going to fall?' It looked to me like he just went slightly off axis, but the other aspects of the jump (height, speed) looked under control. It was just a slip, because he landed it twice during the warm up.
His 4S has really changed, during the Olympic season, it was HUGE but he couldn't really control it. And now it's beautiful. But it's still a quad, and As Brian said, Yuzu is still human. Mistakes are bound to happen sooner or later. But it's best for the mistakes to happen at Nationals than at Worlds.
I'm glad Brian talked to him about 'being perfect every time', hopefully it will take some pressure off his shoulders. Good luck to Yuzu in the FS! :hap57:

Finally he hiccup's  The 4S looked completely off axis from take off. But I'm also glad he finally got a fall out of the way. I know he says he has to be perfect but it can't be good going to Worlds with that much pressure and expectation from everyone. And everything else looked gorgeous :luv17:

I saw this moment that melted my heart. He was so gentle, I guess Pooh-san is indeed therapeutic for Yuzuru. It reminds me of how I am with my dog when I'm cuddling him :o:

I hope the reports of the ankle injury is nothing serious. I was worried the injury might come back :(

Well, petting a cat is soothing to people, lowers blood pressure, so petting Pooh makes sense to me. I"m glad he has Pooh to turn to when he needs him.

Hope it's just a sore ankle, not an injured ankle.

The poor guy looked so dejected the whole time in the knc :( It's good that Brian was there to talk it through with him. Hopefully he can put it behind him and skate a free that he will be satisfied with today :)

Yeah...he kept saying he had to be perfect even with Brian telling him otherwise "but...I have to.." From his face you'd think he bombed that SP. Honestly, more than anything, I'm sad that he's so sad. :sad4:

Yeah he even looks sadder than at SC. :sad21: the score doesn't matter. He has broken 6 WRs in 2 weeks. No one has ever done that. However the higher the scores he get, the more expectation and burden he put on himself.
I think the mistake is a relief from the burden of Mr. Perfect but still when I see him looking so sad..:(.

Let's send positive vibes to him tomorrow. I hope to see him smile brightly.:luv17:

Everything else aside, I have to admit I find this kind of funny - Only Yuzuru could be disappointed with a short program that scored over 100 points

I think he has always been somewhat disappointed when his performance is not perfect. At Skate Canada, I think he was too shocked to see his SP score to feel the disappointment.

Here's a dailymotion link, but it has no commentary. Pretty good quality though.
It includes the FS, entire KnC, and the interview w/Sara.

Here's the link to Yuzu's FP GPF Barcelona 2015 who wants to download it.
Finally uploaded the Spanish Commentary translation of the FS
I found this spanish commentary for Yuzu' s SP , translated in English.Thank you hyunsisf88!

Can fans in US and Japan watch this video without being geo block? This is Japanese camera views of Yuzuru's FS at GPF 2015: http://youtu.be/8ogYaWflWbM

Can anyone get this to play?

Eurosport was showing the highlights of GPF today and we have Simon as the commentator this time. They show the full performance for both the SP and FS.
Here are the videos:
SP - Youtube link, DM link
FS - Youtube link, DM link

I've uploaded the CBC podcast in case anyone can't access the link above.
This time we have PJ and (no Kurt) Lee Chandler who is a Canadian Synchro skater to recap the GPF event.

Don't know if this is posted yet, but here's another angle for his FP, it includes very clear sound byte from the K&C. He said: "I'm so nervous! Especially the 1st Toe." Orser said "Oh My God" when the score came out. And of course the famous "why am I crying?"

Russian commentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BoVFhJmvEU&feature=youtu.be

I took just the best phrases. The first she said after flip: "I think that in this music, in these gestures, there is something that gives such a power for him."
After 3A2T man said: "Half of Japan has just fainted." After final lutz man said:"He is impossible! Impossible! "
Tarasova: "It's the end of the program.. where does he get this power?! How long they waited for this, how they loved him by whole country, how they believed in him... and I think, yes, this national music gives him an additional power. I'm thankful to watch this, to comment this, but there is nothing to comment actually, because it was skating of absolutely genius man."

A brief one:
"I think that in his music and in the gestures that he makes there is something very traditional- they give him power."
After 4T3T: Done! After 3A2T male commentator Grishin: Half of Japan fainted. Not for the first time during this season.
After 3Lz, Grishin: He's incredible. Incredible. This is not real because this can never be real and yet we see it again.
After the step sequence Tarasova: This program... this StSq... there does he get his strength?
After Ina Bauer Grishin: Alien. Cyborg.
Spin Tarasova: they've been waiting for this for so long. They all, his entire country showed their love to him. They trusted in him. Because they saw the way he worked so hard, they saw his potential. This is a no limit (kind of potential), right. And anyway I think that this traditional music- it does add on his power.
Grishin: I'm gonna hide under the table, Tatiana Anatolievna. This man has got 120 for his TES. What's there left to do on this wicked Earth?
Tarasova: Absolutely. I have no idea what is left there for him to improve. Ha can only do another quad, just for fun.
About standing O by Stolbova and Weaver-Poje Tarasova: And these guys who won here as well, they watch and they realize that this and pair skating- it is such a superhuman kind of hardwork and skills and capabilities- of his own and of his coach, the comprehending skill- all of this, it's such a hardwork. They see this and they will never give up. They will never give up. Because they are of the same generation. Thank you Lord that I've been here, for the pleasure of watching this and commenting this. There is nothing to comment about. He's the ultimate skater, today's absolute genius. There is the kind of work that is visible (in results achieved). We saw him falling down, getting up, studying and going further. We see him now being strong, his shoulders are no longer bent, they are straightened, his hands work for opening positions. Amazing! Thank you for everyone who watched this with us.
Grishin: His three jumps (4S, 4T3t and 3A2T) all judges score with +3Goe.
Tarasova: What else can they do? He is skating so well that he leaves no room to practice any whichcraft (she means- cheat with marks, play with levels, Goe's).
Grishin: What kind of whichcraft could be done here? He's the shaman!
Tarasova: Here he is- the shaman!
Grishin: It is only fair that this man had won in Sochi. It is only fair. What should Orser do right now? Quit his profession? What?
Tarasova: Why? On the contrary! Why should he quit? He succedes in what he does. I have experienced that. I too worked with outstanding (talents). It's such a delight! He's going to continue his work. And there will be another (talent) that would have to be raised. He should not give up coaching! 220!
Grishin: 330! 330 to each of them (Yuzu and Orser).*deep sigh from him*
Tarasova: Actually Men competition is the best!
Grishin: The best competition ever! And we just saw this!
Tarasova: Thank you so much, guys (she uses the Russian word "mujiki", that is a tough kind of for men, like- macho) Thank you so much! It's been such a treat to watch this. Girls were good tonight too. Pairs were good too. But... this guy just did what he wanted. He gave it all. Do you remember when he was a kid- he cried, he cried several times already.
Grishin: There is such a huge crowd in here.
Tarasova: It's because he gave his all. This is THE REAL MEN FIGURE SKATING!
Grishin: Let's finish this with the quote from classics: It's a wrap! And with this kind of skating performance from Hanyu- everybody are dismissed (he means no one can conquer this performance).
I wanted to do it in brief and ended up translating everything except first couple of phrases where Grishin names the jumps performed by Yuzuru.
Deep night for me, sorry for possible mistakes.
Sorry it took so long but here is my version of the comments: :)

Aleksander Grishin: Let’s not think of anything (as they were talking about Russian skaters that didn’t get to GPF)
Because it’s such an amazing program that we are watching now! Let’s get back down to Earth. Champion, Records-man and Leader. And again the Japanese music in FP with which two weeks ago he gained 216 points.
AG: Yes! 4S
AG: 4T…. Flip
Tatiana Tarasova: I think that in this music, in these moves (gestures) there’s something national (traditional, deep, great) that is giving him power!
………………………………..Big pause during STPSQ…………………………………
TT: DONE!
AG: 4,3 in the second part
AG: Perfect timing for Japan to be unconscious (knocked down with AWE), not the first time in this season (during the 3A and 2T with raised hands)
AG: He’s unbelievable! Unimaginable! This simply doesn’t exist. Though we’re seeing it right now once again.
TT: At the end of the program, how he does the SPSQ (hydroblade and after)… Where does he get this strength from???.....
AG: Cyborg!
TT: How long they were waiting for this! How they Loved him all together, all the country, Believed and Supported him! Because they saw how he works, his potential. This lack of ceiling! And yes, I believe that this very emotional music gives him strength.
AG: 120 points for tech. What else can be done here on this sinful Earth??!
TT: Absolutely! What else could be done here to improve… He can only add another quad just for fun!
And everyone, who won, they’re watching this. They understand that this and the pair skating are both inhuman labor both skaters and the coaches superhuman abilities. Here’s everything: the ability to understand, to listen and do it all. This is drudgery, and they see all this, and they want to get there. They will not give up because they’re from the same generation.
I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to be here today, to comment, though there’s nothing to say here as an absolute genius was skating here today!
Whose hard work can clearly be seen; we have seen him fall for the past years, rise and learn from that and move on. We see that he’s stronger; his shoulders are exactly as they’re supposed to be and the hands are exactly where they’re supposed to be. Incredible! Thank you very much for being with us today, for watching.

AG: 3 jumps: 4S, 4T and cascade from 3A and 2T, all the judges are giving him 3+, for the maximum points.
TT: Very interesting, stay with us a bit longer.
TT: What’s there left to do?! He’s skating such as there’s no more space to AWE, charm (he said shaman).
AG: There’s nothing left to AWE (shaman)
TT: Absolutely! There’s he is the Shaman!!
AG: It is so fare that he won in Sochi!
AG: What’s there left for Orser to do??!
TT: He has to grow, move further! He’s doing it great! He must never get tired of teaching!
AG: 220 Tatiana Anatolyevna, 330
TT: Yes 220
…………………………Both in AWE…………….
TT: In my opinion the Man tournaments are the most interesting.
AG: The best tournament in history! We have seen today!
TT: Thank you very much Men for such beautiful skating. This is such a joy. Ladies were great today as well but the guy did what he wanted to.
Remember when, in childhood, he was always crying, a few times he cried.
AG: Sooo Many People are Crying at the moment.
TT: Because he gave it all, everything. This is the real Men Figure Skating.
AG: Let’s just end it with a traditional note: thank you very much for watching! But with such a skating that Hanyu did, everyone else is simply dismissed!

....Maybe the best example for what sets him apart is the "PrimaDonna Axel" - was that broadcasted in any streams? After Javi skated his LP, the crowd went nuts. NUTS. His score was huge, people shouted "Javi! Javi!" and stomped heir feet on the ground. It was close to scary, and I was terrified for Yuzu, who was already on the ice. But then Yuzu went circling around the ice and came back doing a 3A, probably the biggest 3A I ever saw. And he had a stare when he landed, that gave me a shiver. It said "You will shut up, you will watch me now and I will deliver!". And that was the moment I thought "OMG, he'll skate clean again!" (not that that didn't keep me from being nervous and shaky and fearing I might faint  ). And then he just went out and did it....

Here the 3A https://twitter.com/anipooh1/status/676404025215033344. It was such a primadonna moment

A close-up fancam of Yuzu's expression after he jumped that 3A during the FS standby to get the crowd's attention back to him.

Interview
https://youtu.be/J-TM5v0nYfw Post FS Interview with PJ

PJ: What is your favorite jump?
Yuzu: Ah, triple axel...and quad sal...and quad toe!

You know, just all the most difficult jumps in the world!

An interview with Shae Lynn Bourne, Yuzu's choreographer.

https://bevsmithwrites.wordpress.com/2015/12/13/if-lightning-strikes-its-probably-yuzuru-hanyu/

Quoting from the article:

"At the end of a busy December Saturday, Shae-Lynn Bourne finally had a chance to watch history unfold at the Grand Prix Final in Barcelona.

On her Smartphone, Bourne could see just enough from the tiny little figures to know that Yuzuru Hanyu, for whom she had created the free skate, could make no errors. Not possible. “He seems to have real confidence,” she said. “It was quite amazing to see. It was quite something. But I think it will only get better. Once you have a taste of it, it’s hard to lose it.”

Photos & Clips
"Yuzu extended his arm, so Shoma thought Yuzu was asking him to do arm in arm posture, then Yuzu burst out into laugh. These two can’t help laughing at this small incident during the whole podium photo-taking. And Yuzu kept teasing Shoma about that when they stepped down the podium. "

I guess Shoma was too overwhelmed so he forgot where to put his hand.

Cute picture of Javier, Yuzuru, and Shoma from Inside Skating.

The caption reads: This really needs a caption: Yuzuru Hanyu pinching Shoma Uno’s cheek, to make him smile to the photographers during the press conference.

#2: ありがとうございました。この大会は演技前、自分の中に緊張と不安がありました。その気待ちのまま演技に臨みましたが、演技を進めているうちに吹っ切る事が出来ました。
Translation by Ayako Nakamura @YHIFG FB: "Thank you (everyone). I was very nervous and worried (or full of doubt or uncertain) before I performed at this competition. I went onto the ice feeling the same way but as I skated, I was able to overcome these feelings."

#3: まだまだ課題はあります。これからも一つ一つの要素に、より思いを込められるよう日々を大切に練習していきたいと思います。これからも応援よろしくお願いします。

Umm..I think this new article says Orser said the next challenge is 4lo??

PERFECTION again!! Even Kurt Browning didn't have much to say about Yuzu when they showed it on CBC tv today - he just let the beauty of the skating speak for itself.
What more is there to say? Hope you like this post.

I loved this report. It shows the evolution of Yuzu jumps, especially 4S. All he has won so far was with a lot of fight and determination. Yuzu congratulations. I am very, very happy for you. Sorry if someone already posted.

Translation when Oda presented the cake to Yuzu

Nobu : “(you’ve just turned) only 21 years old, so young~ how good it is~”
Yuzu : “everyone be like (writing/saying my name) with [ Hanyu Yuzuru (21) ] ”

on Japanese TV, he said pooh made him cry at K&C. ’’Because pooh-san is my war buddy”

Yuzu talk with Shuzo again~

I saw bit of translation including his affection to pooh and also how he felt before his FS when the crowd yelling out loud Javier's name. Hope we soon have full translation.

I translated Yuzu's new interview with Shuzo-san. It's on the Edge. Take a look. http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/sh...otions-at-GPF-Interview&p=1321437#post1321437

I just want to say again how I love the interview with Matsuoka-san! It always seems like he can be totally honest and we get to see/hear a different side of him when they do interview together. Also the first time I think I've heard him talk about Michelle Kwan!

He said that he wasn't sure why he cried; he was already crying before the total score came out, and when he looked down and saw Pooh, he cried even more because Pooh has been his "war buddy" and always been there throughout all fights. He said that after he said "why am I crying?", Brian said well it's because you worked hard right? Then he realized he was scared. He said that when he was warming up and Javi was waiting for his score, he missed 3lo while the arena was chanting "Javi! Javi!", so he thought "Damn it! I'm here!" and landed a 3A.

Matsuoka also asked him if he thought about the max score he can get, and how Oda-san and him said he's about 9 points away from the max score he can get. He said he hasn't thought about it. But Oda-san said it's the first time they had to do commentary while using comparison with Max score!

Kenzo Shirai (gymnast-first quad twist) interview :http://a1tumbling.tumblr.com/post/135236017196/2015-toyota-international-kenzo-shirai-interview
He talks about what he can learn from Yuzuru

Maybe relevant to the discussion of whether Yuzuru 'needs' the 4Lo

Hanyu-senshu is raising his difficulty and actively challenging himself, and I learn that even if you're at the top, you need to keep motivating yourself and raising the D-score otherwise you will be overtaken by the others. Watching Hanyu-senshu, I learn that if I do not have that sense of danger, I will lose too.

Translation
Quick transcription of the GPF SP from the live airing on Eurosport 2, Netherlands:

HL: I hope we won’t be talking about points in the eighties anymore, because this man, Yuzuru Hanyu, skated a big world record two weeks ago, 106.33, at the NHK trophy in his own country, where he was in super form the whole weekend, two world records, and not little ones, either.
He will go for two different quads in the SP.
[no talking during the SP]
JP: tsjonge jonge jonge (Dutch expression for OMG except without actually using swear words), this is figure skating from another dimension and truly from another planet, this Yuzuru Hanyu, majestic, the interpretation of this theme, Frederic Chopin, and look at the score, 61.59 —
HL: and 59.44 when he skated that world record
JP: he skated above his own world record
HL: and he didn’t even get that many tens, he only got them from one judge, and the other judges didn’t give him tens (note: ?), so it can go higher.
JP: well, here there will be tens. I would almost say, a virtual world record for Yuzuru Hanyu, for this unbelievable performance. The ice is filled with gifts, as we’re used to, but we’re not even in Japan, we’re in Spain.
HL: maybe he will get the 110.
JP: and his rival has to go on the ice. Really, superlatives aren’t enough for this SP, as far as I’m concerned.
HL: as you say, from another dimension, because not only the jumps and the technique go flawless, but everything is so sublime, the skating, how he connects everything
JP: the transitions
HL: the ease with which he floats across the ice
JP: you think, it cannot get any better, and again and again he is able to improve himself
HL: the run-up to the triple axel, such a difficult jump, he stepped over twice,
JP: and the rest is just transitions, movements…
In the slow-mo we are going to enjoy all this beauty again. Here the quad salchow, out of passes, and then directly into a spread-eagle, that is into a moond (note: this is funny, the commentator actually literally says that, he uses the English word, and then explains himself… not that I can understand the Dutch word too well, but clearly he felt the need to explain it into Dutch), and then here the toe loop, quad and triple in combination. Brian Orser completely living the program with him, and there the triple axel, you couldn’t see the ‘over step’ passes, but there weren’t a lot of them, and then also the brilliant interpretation in the step sequence, majestic, what a work of art, choreography by Jeffrey Buttle, the Canadian, and in the free skate Sheilin Bourne, ice dancer
HL: yes, Orser and his team aren’t sitting with him, because they’re with his other pupil, Fernandez, who has to skate immediately after this, and what will it be? 106.33 his own world record
JP: yes, that could be near the 110
HL: even though the previous world record wasn’t even at 100 points, 98 something, also his [yeah… not having her facts entirely straight there]
through another: yes, 110.95 / almost 111,
JP: and look at the presentation, and average of 9.8, unbelievable, what a score for the Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu, leading with flying colours, 110.95, that also goes into the history books.

and they continue to talk a bit about Yuzuru being such a good sportsman, for asking the audience to quiet down for Fernandez, about them being training buddies etc.

It also looks like the commentary from the recap program is different, so I'll have to add that to the transcription list, too, I guess.

The Eurosport Dutch commentary, Hanyu's SP, from the GPF recap program.

HL: This is Yuzuru Hanyu, the Olympic champion. He lost his world title last season, but it is currently in super form. He already skated a world record at NHK trophy, and we’re going to see if he could equal that result here in Barcelona.
JP: the Chinese Boyang Jin had already jumped two quads, so Yuzuru Hanyu couldn’t stay behind, but he has also planned two quads in his SP. Opens here with a gorgeous quad salchow, before and after that, transitions. The quad toe loop, in combination with a triple toe loop, even more transitions into the triple axel, and only did two ‘overstep passes’ since the previous element. Gorgeous step sequence, every nuance (detail) in the music is being used. Really a majestic performance by Yuzuru Hanyu, and he would surely get near the world record, his old record, which he keeps beating again and again, and you can already tell from the technical score, that it would happen again today.
HL: yes, so two weeks ago he already skated a world record of 106 points, while we’re looking at the quads after another, quad salchow, quad toe loop, triple loop, gorgeous triple axel late in the program, the high point for me
JP yes, here it is, that axel, out of transitions and passes, and everything is of superior quality in Hanoi’s performance, all elements high in the plus [range], and not just that, the whole kur, the whole concept is one whole. And look at that, again a world record, 110.95.
HL: another four points extra compared to his world record two weeks ago, then for his own audience, and now for the Spanish audience, the countrymen of his biggest rival, Fernandez.

I am so obsessed with Star Wars right now (saw it this morning, sigh), it was difficult concentrating on this, but, got it done in the end.

Eurosport Netherlands, LIVE FS
HL Yuzuru Hanyu, the man who is in such good form, who comes from another planet, already skated three world records two weeks ago at NHK, short, long and total, and two days go here in Barcelona he sharpened that world record, his own world record, by another four points. He skated 110 points, everything worked, two different quads, beautiful choreography, gorgeous transitions, and Phew, yes, Orser takes a deep breath. Yuzuru Hanyu.

[no talk during skate]

JP I think we’ve all been able to see that this is figure skating from another dimension, what Yuzuru Hanyu has shown these past few weeks, and if we look at the technical score, then he even improves on his own score form NHK trophy. There he had 118 points, now 120, and there’ll be another 98 or so points for components, so we’re going to see a big, big new world record by Hanyu, and everybody has to scratch their heads and wonder, how is he possibly going to be beaten the coming years? It is not going to happen if he doesn’t make any mistakes himself, because he is invincible. What class, what confidence does he exude, and if I’m honest, I think this is the lesser presentation, there he was more confident (note: ????)
HL: absolutely, he was more into it, it sparkled more, then it was for his home audience in Japan
JP: here he had a quad toe loop where he didn’t land entirely nice (“lekker”), but it didn’t matter, he just added another triple, that, for me, was the high point of the kur, because if you can manage that, wow, then you’re really a legend.
HL: anyone else landing that would not have done anything after it. He just throws his free leg and bam, adds another toe loop without doubt, without hesitation.
JP: Technically so incredibly strong, this Hanyu, but not only that, the kur is just complete, the total package. Here the first quad toe loop, very securely landed, there it was again, then we went to the flip, we’ve let you enjoy it in silence, because we already felt that this was going to be another world record, a spin and a step sequence, everything at the highest possible level.
HL: and many problems in the second half [note: boy, they’re critical, aren’t they?)
JP: he didn’t land well there, was even underrotated there with the quad toe loop, so the score would have to be adjusted downwards, but it isn’t worth mentioning, (HL: no, it isn’t) [note: I guess they changed their minds very quickly, lol] by far far far the best today, and also yesterday (note: well, two days, but who’s counting?), and again this will be a monster score, far above the 300 in the total score.
HL: two weeks ago in Nagano at the NHK trophy he had 216.07 for the FS and 322.40 in total
JP: look here, Brian Orser, his coach, what a moment for him, too.
HL: and in the den of the lion, the country of his closest rival but also his close friend Javier Fernandez. Two weeks in Japan, it was a gift to be allowed to perform like that in his home country, and yes, they’re being fair sportsmen (upon seeing Javier bow to Hanyu in the kiss and cry), lovely
JP: yes, of course Fernandez knows, too, he cannot win, and yes, 219, and 330 total score
HL: three points higher world record, and eight points total world record. Yes, this is just crazy ( lit. “gaat nergens meer over”, this is about nothing anymore, actually a derogatory expression when you think something is so outrageous, it’s past the point of what you can take seriously. I don’t think she meant to say we shouldn’t take the score seriously, though, it’s more like saying it’s just amazing and unbelievable). These are scores that so far outdo all the other skaters, and Orser.
JP: he just cannot believe it, how can you comprehend this, how can you keep doing this over and over again, where is this going to end? But don’t peak too soon, there will be a world championship in March, and then you have to be there again, you have to reload yourself.
HL: it’s only December. I think he would do well to take a fairly long break, after all this madness of the past couple of weeks. JP: Well, what a competition, unbelievable.
HL: Unbelievable indeed.

They ended the coverage by calling the men’s FS legendary. Well, that’s something, I suppose. ;-) and I cannot help but continuing to be amused by the difference in coverage between these Dutch commentators and the British guys. Those guys are just so exuberant, whereas these commentators sometimes just feel like they're commenting on the weather. Sorry, no offense intended towards them, I'm sure they're very good at what they do, as a Yuzu fan, of course, I would just like a bit more enthusiasm sometimes.

Shae-Lynn Bourne speaks about her work with Yuzuru: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2015/12/17/159903334

Skating World Reaction
Repost from xibsuarz's thread in The Edge. Sonia Bianchetti had some very lovely words about Yuzu's GPF performances + she loves SEIMEI as well

Yuzuru Hanyu, the Olympic champion from Japan, was first both in the short and the free program. Both his programs are a perfect combination of art and technique. In the short program he was awarded twenty scores of "10" in the Program Components and twenty-four in the free program!!!! It has never happened before. His free program was a real masterpiece. The swiftness, the flow and the precision of his movements, in a program containing three quadruple jumps and seven triples, including a rare triple Axel-half loop-triple Salchow combination in the second part of the program, all preceded by difficult steps and movements, as well as beautiful spins, is the result of his supreme athletic skill. His jumps are of the highest technical quality, properly started and landed, without any visible effort. Impressive also were also his step sequences, especially, in my opinion, his choreo sequence filled with original and beautiful moves. Skating to the Japanese movie soundtrack Seimei, he was invincible in combining speed, athleticism and elegance. His skating is very soft and graceful and filled with passion. He surely is a natural talent. He is skating on another planet!

Japan's titled Olympic champ Hanyu propels men's figure skating - Plushenko

Some quotes:
"Hanyu skated simply brilliantly," Plushenko said in an exclusive interview with TASS. "He keeps pushing the world’s men figure skating further and I am very grateful to him for doing it. Moreover, I am sure that Yuzuru can skate even better."
"By the way, he can include in his program quad loop jump," Plushenko said. "I know that his team is working on it. I wish him success from all of my heart."

Photos & Clips
I've uploaded a bunch of photos I took of Yuzuru at the GP final in Barcelona -> HERE

Yuzuru has many different faces/expressions in the photos...
...including a few showing his fierce "Beast Mode" face!
Those of a nervous disposition should beware!!! O_o

I made a scan of the clear folder that I got as a gift from one of the Japanese fans at the GPF

I also have some scans of the other folders I own, the pictures are quite big, so click at your own risk

[1][2][3][4][5][6]

I made some scans of the GPF program book, including of course the page with Yuzuru (and Javier, since they apparently now share a birthday and a FS)

There was also an interview with Brian Orser. If you're interested, I posted the scans here

Hello guys!
I don't post often, mostly reading (seems like I have a number of pages to catch up), but now just wanted to say "I was there!" Barcelona is very nice city, audience at the arena was great, the whole competition was awesome, men's free was amazing and Yuzu in the Gala finale was like icing on the cake! So the whole event was like one big celebration or early Christmas!)))
I stalked skaters a little (and I'm not sorry))). The first time was on occasion after friday practise - I was just warming up at the sun near arena, after some time I saw a little crowd near Marriot entrance - Orser was giving autographs and taking pictures with fans (and I wanted one too), and at some moment I turned around and saw Yuzu walking like almost at arms reach in front of me (I don't know if he heard the sound of my jaw dropping), but I didn't ran after him, wanted my photo with papa Orser (he is very kind and patient with fans really), I also didn't see the moment when Tracy Wilson also decided to take picture with us

Shoma revealed what happened on the podium at GPF15: “Yuzu said to me 'fold your arms’, I didn’t quite get what he wanted, but put my arm through Yuzu’s anyway. Then Yuzu laughed at me saying ‘that kind of pose is for weddings!!’”.

How about we just ask the crazy kid himself? So, Yuzu, how do you feel about doing just one more revolution while you're already up there?

Arrived in Japan from GPF

His flight is delayed; this clip contains a shot of the crowd waiting for him

And here he is! With a smile and the trusty bodyguard beside him (and mom behind him)

Yuzu teased Nobu remotely. He was asked at the airport what kanji would describe this year. He was finally able to answer "naru" (seiko, to become, to achieve), same kanji in nobuNARI. He added that his choice had nothing to do with Nobu. He was quite pleased with his answer and Nobu got a kick out of it as well.

If any of you want to check out some new music, Hanyu-san in the article about his arrival back to Japan, said that he listened ONE OK ROCK before competition. :)

Haha!! I was so curious and i've just listened to this song which has more then 36 million views and WOW .... no doubt this sound and lyric are a very strong mental support !!!

Some new videos while we wait for next week:

interview after GPF gala; he looked super relaxed here!

NHK banquet backstage; showing Hanyu-san taking a picture of Keiji and said "how lovey-dovey" (I think that's the translation lol)

Lol, a news clip of Yuzuru with Hiroaki after his Bolero EX during summer shows just got released. I laughed when Yuzu imitated one of his moves and it's always nice to see him around people his own age.

Anyone saw this clip yet?

The beginning I am not sure; talking about some frog mascot?? But the second part once again is showing the worlds what a wonderful, courteous young man Hanyu-san is. It says that he saw a reporter with a mask on and asked after his health. Then afterwards he kept on inquiring about his health every time they pass by each other.

New Ice Show
Hanyu-san is participating in "New Year On Ice" in Osaka Jan 16/17. Again, amazing cast!

Btw, someone asked about Brian cam few pages back and I came across this https://youtu.be/LScZyb4aObs fancam from GPF. It's rather short and it's of Brian, Kikuchi, and Pooh watching the free. Watch Brian moving along to the choreography (and jumps lol) and clapping to cheer for Yuzu. Precious.

At the Grand Prix final Yuzuru had something written on the back of one of his training shirts (Like last year's "Conquer Myself!!"). I didn't notice until reviewing my photos, and I didn't get a clear shot of it...

THIS is the best I got.
It looks like three words but I can't make them out.

For further evolution. I love that he has his training outfits customized.

Speaking of which somebody on tumblr uploaded big big scans of the anan pictures. I wasn't really around when those pictures got posted here, so I have no idea what kind of quality has been around so far. But those scans are really not bad

Yuzu’s HD Videos
As I'm organizing my Yuzu media files (seems to be a never-ending task for me), I wanted to share some HD files with our members here. I know not everyone is interested in large size files but I think some of Yuzu's amazing performances definitely deserve some love from our harddrive space. Hey instead of watching from the small youtube window you can hook these files up on TV to get the full enjoyment of the magical Yuzuru moments.

mediafire folder: https://www.mediafire.com/#n1c0az7c1ul5w

Files included:
Olympic SP - CBC (720p), BBC (720p), NBC (720p60 ts file - Johnny & Tara), NBC (1080p ts file - Scott & Sandra)
Olympic Team SP - CBC (720p60 ts), NBC (720p60 ts)

all files from 2015 are 1080p ts format:

2015 NHK FS - CBC, NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary
2015 GPF SP - NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary
2015 GPF FS - CBC, CBC No Commentary (they showed this again during the Gala broadcast), NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary

The 2015 CBC and NBC files are recorded by myself, and all other files I have downloaded from BT sometime ago. I think for the Olympic files most of the original sources are not active anymore, hence I wanted to share with you all my treasure
From page 2169
The mediafire links should still work, I think the reason you might be redirected to the main page is because you have to register an account in order to access the files in the folder? Since all the files are now uploaded I'm reposting below the individual video links of each file, please see if this might work better for you.

On another matter, sharing this praise of Yuzuru by Evgenia Medvedeva from a post by quique. Many thanks to him/her.

EM: I admire him. He is a fantastic person, I've never seen anyone like him before. Skating is literally his life! It doesn't matter what's around him. He does quad loop without any warm-up, I don't even understand why he doesn't include it in his programs yet. He is completely calm when he's doing it. I just admire him, what he does is incredible.

As I posted before, the Russian wonder girls seem to have a soft spot for the Japanese golden boy.

Here's the video of the order of draw. Men's starts around 21:14. Can someone tell me what he is drawing at the beginning? Does he decide the starting position of the draw? (around 22:00).

I think Yuzuru (and some other skaters including Satoko respectively) did the preliminary draw to decide who to start the main draw, and actually he did this for the top two groups of men.

OH so the media finally found something he is not good at...they caught him struggling with his tie just before the draw and have to ask Kozuka for help, who tied it perfectly before passing it on to Hanyu-san. Very telling pictures!

His face goes from :gaah: to this :eeking: lol

I know I shouldn't laugh about this because it's not nice to do that and could actually be dangerous if the wrong kind of thing came flying....... but honestly, the first thing I thought here was "why is someone throwing a boxer short at his head?"

Skate Order Tomorrow; I didn't know that they don't go in order of SP results, however he is still skating last.

I hope Japanese poster help me with this: http://mainichi.jp/articles/20151226/k00/00m/050/162000c

Does it say he feels hurt in his ankle? Thank you.

Yeah, it says he felt hurt in his left ankle several days ago...

I saw this moment that melted my heart. He was so gentle, I guess Pooh-san is indeed therapeutic for Yuzuru. It reminds me of how I am with my dog when I'm cuddling him.
