Don't know if they hate them, but they sure know about the petition and didn't have any good words to say about it. Well, it's the internet, people do what they want and think it won't have any kind of repercussion.

Let's hope it won't have much more than words from the mouth.

It certainly reflects badly on them. I had a female friend who whined to the school when they wouldn't let her try out for the male ice hockey team (no girls team at the time). Her parents bullied the school into letting her try out, and during tryouts, the guys went after her like a pack of dogs. She was checked like there was no tomorrow. Moral of the story: nobody likes to be bullied into making a decision. Their fan club seems to enjoy bullying journalists who don't agree with them (see poor Grishin)

Who is "poor Grishin"?

You are right about things like that backfiring although I do feel sorry for your friend

Why would it reflect on them. They didn't write it.

Grishin is the male who usually commentates for Russian TV. He was repeating some stuff he read in the news about a possible I/K reunion and the fans totally went after him on Instagram.

They didn't denounce it either. And doesn't help that those close to them were sharing it on their walls. It looks like they endorse it.

Why should they bother. They have to prepare for next season. If Elena and Ruslan have not endorsed it themselves who cares if 1 coach did. Their coaches are supposed to support them. And I'm sure the coach just appreciates the sentiment. None of us are involved in discussions or arguments with the Fed, so why speculate?

Um, they read their fan group regularly. They know about this and they should know better that this crap only pisses people off and Lakernik sounded pissed

They can't control fans. The fans will do what they do. The fans are passionate and I think if the Fed is irritated it's because it has over a 1,000 signatures. I personally feel Ruslena should do a Senior B, not Russian Cup and get to work. Blues and Swing will be good for them. And come back strong.

Interesting way of telling that story...

It doesn't take much time to write a post saying "please delete this. It won't help".

Well, I don't think it's neither here nor there about all of this. I hardly believe they wouldn't know about the petition if Lakernik is already giving interviews about it. Did they need to say anything about it? No. But they should. Maybe say that while they are happy their fans want them to place better, want to see them competing, they applaud the effort but accept the results the judges gave them, while they get ready for more work for the next season. Or something like it, maybe it's not what they feel, but it's appeases both sides.

Because now the question was even raised on an online mag, and it seemed like a big deal since even Cinquanta's name is involved in it - although, you know, the internet. Lakernik was the only one that actually opened his mouth about it, and while I believe nothing might come out of it, it certainly causes distress and unecessary drama, and certainly paints a bad PR image for I/Z. While it seems that Lakernik didn't want to bring the topic much into discussion, citing the decision of the judges as something not really in his reach, it feels like he kicked the ball to someone else's court now.

I fail to see how this is analogous at all, I do however see how it's misogynistic.

As to the petition itself it's ridiculous and cringeworthy, I'm sure if I&Z know about this they find it embarrassing.

But what can they say. It's done and was done while they were still at Nationals. They just got back. They can't control that anymore than they can control these boards.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, I don't think they should acknowledge at all, I think not reacting is the appropriate way to deal with it. If they were to say something it would just feed the crazy.

That's what I think. I'm sure hey are disappointed with how the season turned out but what can you do. I hope they do a senior B- I think there is one left and move on. Better to have this happen now.
