That was actually a 2f at the end so no Zayak issue (based on protocol). So Patrick landed 2x 4t and 5 triples, with 2 doubled jumps (second 3axel and the 3flip). Not bad, but room for growth.

Since when did Liam Firus deserve 10 points of PCS over Nam? The highest Liam has ever gotten was 69 PCS internationally. While we can't stop nationals inflation, scores have to reflective of what they can achieve on the international scene.

OK, I reply to my own question, yes Liam had neither 3A nor triple triples. Both Nam and Kevin had awesome combinations near the end of the program. How come that he gets the second spot?

Every time they send him internationally he gets abysmal, dismal results. Very disappointing as his jumping never improves but they love that flows across the ice kinda like patrick, but not quite.

Nam and Kevin both beat Liam in TES yet they were behind on PCS, I don't really understand, they both have better track records than Liam, I expect it to be closer.

Did he not skate well tonight? I'm so obsessed with Patrick that the only Canadian Men I remember since he came on the scene are Eman and Kevin. I didn't follow Kevin until after I saw him at Skate Canada in 2010. I'll look up Liam's performance after US Champs end for the night. Thanks..

I find Liam a beautiful skater but too much like Patrick with less power so it's hard to make a mark internationally. Good to see him including a quad in his LP now.

He doesn't have much international experience I think. He can help get 3 spots for Canada if he doesn't bomb. There is no guarantte another skater will not bomb.

I'm not sure if it's ever been made "official", it's just always seemed obvious in all their Instagram and Facebook pictures.

Kirsten, Michael and Liam taught a seminar over the Christmas holidays at my daughter's skating club, and Liam and Kirsten seemed pretty couple-ey to me.

I wouldn't bother seeing liam unless you want to see how pathetic our national judges are...

The thing with nam is that he is usually such a fighter, liam is not. I know nam was rough here, but you know it is more his growth and lack of confidence, not lack of ability. At least this should hammer home that he should spend the summer developing speed and flow so they cannot ding him that way. I know the quads will return in time, but those skating skills need to develop asap. Firus should not be beating him.

Didn't they not include him at the Gala for Skate Canada?

His PCS here was the same as he got last year at Worlds. Next to no Nationals inflation, whereas I can't even imagine Liam's -- 15 points in PCS?
