Off topic, some parts of Javier's recent interview:

Q: Your biggest rival, Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu, scored 322.40 points (at the 2015 NHK Trophy) and you 302.77 (at the 2016 European Figure Skating Championships). Is that an insurmountable gap?

A: Every competition is different. It's true that when he got that score it was because he did something special and the other skaters perhaps had more mediocre routines, including myself, because I was in that competition (the NHK Trophy in Nagano, Japan, in November). One of my programs didn't go well. Each competition is different, and each skater skates in a different way. You never know what can happen. It's true that right now we have the two best scores in the world and he still has more points and the world record. But that doesn't mean that he'll do that forever. In the nationals in Japan, he didn't do such a good program. He made a lot of mistakes. The key is to work, be patient and mistakes can happen at any time because we're human.

(And the interviewer does not know the difference between NHK and GPF.)

Q: Can you be friends with your biggest rival? Do you go out to lunch or dinner, or is everything limited to what happens inside the rink?

A: We don't usually eat together or hang out. We're very different people. His lifestyle is different from mine, since I'm European. That doesn't mean we don't chat when we're in the rink. We talk. We laugh. We have a good time. With the coach, it's the same.

It's good that Fernandez is feeling more competitive these days and is going to put up his best fight to keep the World Title. Let's see what happens!

Does anyone knows whether it is movie for tv or cinema? This movie info keeps us occupied a bit in the months leading to Worlds...even his 2s walking in the trailer

I think it's a movie that's coming out on May 14th. Yuzu has 12 lines.

Lol. Very funny:devil:

how many minutes for you to speak 12 lines? I assume 5 minutes?

Nina Foch won an Academy award nomination for best supporting actress in the movie, Executive Suite (1954), playing a role with fewer than 12 lines....

Personally I am a bit annoyed by this interview, better say that you will try your best and not expect others to make mistakes , well another proof that fame changes people :sarcasm:

Why? He has always said that Yuzuru is unbeatable, and that win a clean Yuzuru is impossible, so his only chances are skate his best and wait for his mistakes. It's not the first time he says that. IMO he's quite the opposite, he perfectly knows who the best is and doesn't have any problem to admit it :points:
I remember when he won Worlds, he clearly admit that he won because Yuzuru had had some mitakes, if not, it was impposible for him to beat Yuzuru. And the images of the moment are priceless:love:

Let's hope that he has many scenes in the movie, even if it's 3 minutes in total

I'd prefer him saying he is well trained, he worked hard and will try his best in Boston,(like Yuzuru always says, I think I am a bit spoiled by him) and lets see how things will go , maybe it is because of interviewer didn't write his words as he said exactly, (she/he even messed NHK with GPF ) but still, it sounds a bit weird . Yup, Javi always says it , but this one sounds a bit annoying , unlike others who weren't .
