I'm definitely biased, but after watching the men's competition of 4CC this weekend, it reminded me of how much I appreciate Yuzuru's overall skating and his presence at competitions. It just feels different to me when Yuzuru is competing compared to a competition when he's not there. :o: Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I'm here at 3 am because 4cc gave me Yuzu withdrawal.

Edit: Actually Yuzu withdrawal started since Jpn Nationals. 4cc just made it a lot worse. :hopelessness:

Really true, and I was missing too many other skaters that wished have been there this year: J Brown, J Farris, D Ten, N Nguyen, N Chen, Misha Ge :sad14:

You're not alone!!

Thank you Maria Victoria for letting me know about this guy! I enjoyed his videos with his love for skaters including Yuzuru and Shoma  Shame, I should have known about him earlier :hslap: There are already many comments thanking him from Japan as well even for the last year performance.

And, GPF 2015. He is shouting "I love you!!!" at the end of Yuzuru's Seimei FS :laugh2:

I felt like I was enjoying the performance with him there with excitement.

Oh thank you Maria Victoria, you are the first person saying that to me this year :luv17:

You're welcome.:)

Catching up with the 4CC men's competition where Patrick became the newest member of the 200+ FS club. Jackie Wong in his Twitter account (https://mobile.twitter.com/rockerskating) posted a comparison between Patrick's FS score and Yuzuru's at 2015 GPF.

Also sharing another beautiful video ("Seimei..Four Seasons") from YouTube by the talented Sugar Autumn: https://m.youtube.com/watch?autoplay=1&v=s3aLNOAuzaU. There is a lovely comment there by echocheng on both the accompanying music and Yuzuru himself. I find it not surprising that he is thought to be like members of the avian species. After all, he has "wings" in his name and an airy quality to his skating. :)

Well injuries lets not hope that - I just mention Nathan Chen - its a pity with him, big, big talent.

Denis Ten is also one of my favorite skaters - his style - but can he technically be at Jins or Hanyus level 2018 ? With only his - in the past - not really consistent 4 T ?
Patrick Chans flawless performance ( I didn't trust my eyes) at 4CC FS brings him 12 Pts in front of Jin in FS, Chan was lucky that he won 4CC by less than half a point. Even if you consider chinese inflation at Taipei, Jin is closing the gap. Like Patrick Chan also Denis Ten with having only a 4 T must perform without any technical mistakes to have a chance to win.

Hanyu won't stand still to 2018....as to this "unfavorable environment" at Olympics in Korea: He will put on his fighting and conquering mode - as You mentioned: Hanyu is a champion. Remember Takahasi : Hanyu is a carnivore.

All these guys are saying they are practicing 4S/new quads and will up their tech. None of them plans to use the same layout in the next two years. But upping the tech always comes with higher risk of injuries (and inconsistency). Denis has the more ideal age in 2018 compared to other guys like Patrick, Javi and Boyang. Patrick and Javi would be too old in 2018 and past their prime. Boyang is still young. Judges always prefer the more all round veteran skaters. If Denis skates well (with upped tech), he will outscore Boyang (like how Patrick outscored Boyang, even with lower BV). (Denis is inconsistent, but so is pretty much every other male skater. Most men have one good competition each season. It's only a matter of timing and peaking at the right time. Denis does skate well once in a while, and usually at the most important competitions.)

Maybe there won't be many local fans at the Olympics because Korea doesn't have any medal contenders. When Plushenko withdrew from Sochi Olympics, the Olympic stadium became pretty much empty.

Yeah, I miss competition with Yuzu in it too. We get so spoiled from October to December!

4CC was a fairly good competition, though, especially the men's long program. I can barely wait until Boston...

Yeah me too! I'm honestly getting really pumped for worlds now. It's going to be great to be there live. I was at a hockey game last night spotting the general area of where my seat's gonna be for Worlds trying to assess if it's a good enough spot  (it's a different arena but still). Too bad Shoma couldn't hold onto the podium, but it looks like P Chiddy brought it and he should win among this field if he does. For Worlds, if everybody brings their best it should be an excellent competition!!! I'm hoping everybody does to make my trip there worth it. What a stacked field.

you are so lucky to being able to go and watch it live!

Grrrr.. I am green with envy!!! But in a good way  I will find a way to make sure I am home during the competition, even though I'm in the same time zone so shouldn't miss much anyway... cough, hack, I think I feel the flu coming on near the end of March :)
