Is Anna going to Worlds or the russian fed hasn't decided yet??
I'm pretty sure she is going but I don't think the Fed has made an official announcement.

I believe the team will be announced early March? But yes, I think it's very likely that Anna is going.
A thought: One reason they may have held off announcing the team, could be that perhaps they may have wanted to keep their options re the substitutes open for a while as well?
I just checked out her lutzes
Europeans: no ur or edge issues, positive goe on all lutzes
GPF: no ur or edge issues, 1 negative GOE in short, all positive in long.
Rostelecom: no ur or edge issues, positive goe on all lutzes
Coc: no ur or edge issues also
So, i took a closer look at the detailed results and concluded her lutzes are fine.
You are touching on her lutz issue very unwisely:
COC SP 3Lz -1.30 LP 3Lz -2.10 VS Coc: no ur or edge issues also
GPF SP 3Lz -1.10 LP 3Lz -0.3 VS GPF: no ur or edge issues, 1 negative GOE in short, all positive in long.
Did I ever say Elena has an UR/edge issue on her lutz jumps? You are just switching the concept of my argument and evading the weak point of her jump technique.
While of course the whole "ice is slippery and anything can happen" yadda yadda is true, I don't think there's any reason not to be optimistic about the chances of the russian ladies at worlds. Russia is the only country where I'd bet money they will get at least one medal. Japan is also very likely, but I'm still a little less convinced about Satoko (because while the technical panels at GPF and 4CC ignored her URs, if we get a strict tech caller for worlds her scores could drop a lot). And furthermore, Russia is the only country I'd say has a really good shot at even 2 medals - again with Japan having an outside shot too thanks to Satoko + Mao, but it's far less likely.
Yes please! :luv17:
4CC has a history of bit inflated scores and less strict judging, the most blatant case is that of young Chinese team in pairs that won. I am not a fan of Satoko yet but she improved much recently. I am convinced that one of the Russian ladies will get on the podium but more likely silver or bronze than gold with no Tuktamysheva in the context, I like other Russian girls too but I think they are not ready yet. Russia has a "problem" of such an abundance of great skaters right now, at least 6 / 7 of them would be able (and eligible) to represent their country worthily.
Who is your gold medal favorite then, if not Evgenia?
As much as I hate Evgenia's skating strategy, she will likely win gold in Boston.
Her strategy is perfectly aligned to get as many points as possible under the CoP system, which although I also dislike, we can't blame her for not doing otherwise.

Mao or Satoko. Medvedeva looks strong and is really consistent but I simply have a hunch that she will finish 3rd (still huge success). It's stupid to exclude from the favourites current European champion and Grand Prix final
BTW. Can Wakabu Higuchi compete at Senior Worlds or is she too young still? Is Japanese team announced already? Rika Hongo has a beautiful free program this year - I am going to miss it if she can't compete. I am not so tuned in yet ...

May I ask why you think Evgenia will finish third? There's almost no skater as consistent as she is this season.

Like I mentioned before - this is gut feeling & nothing else. Or ... because I wish Mao to become a World Champion once again![]()
I'm more curious about how people see Elena's chances at medaling at Worlds this season?
Satoko and Evgenia are not going to make it for her to win, that's for sure.
Ashley and Gracie have been very hot and cold all season but skating in the US could help them.
Mao has not been skating well so far but she has all the history and experience on her side.
Can Elena make the podium? I know she's a contender for sure, but I'm curious to what people see her chances as being.
