No matter is really nice or not, I do think Yuzu is adorable in that suit though. It's like when you see a cute fluffy little bunny wearing a red suit... :dance2:
Just missing the fluffy white ears.

Oh my goodness I'm late but how heartbreaking to see so many negative lashes at Yuzuru when he just lost one competition. Why finding faults?? Why do he need to change coach for one lousy competition? You could prepare for years and when that moment comes many things could go wrong still.

It might not be the same with what Yuzuru is facing, but for the last few months I've been having a presentation to the ministry in leading up to presentation with the royals. On my first presentation I failed so badly despite practicing months before. When asked question I was shaking I can't speak. People look at me with disappointment gosh it was the board of ministry so my reputation could possibly be damaged. They doubted me.

But I don't wallow or finding ways to blame myself. It was embarrassing but I seek for my weakness because I couldn't just let my reputation damaged like that. It was a struggle but it has to be done. So 2 weeks ago I presented again with more confidence. I was nervous still. I don't know what would happen but all I can do is just do the best I can. Thank God it went well I was asked to present to the royals.

You see the point here is you don't need to pinpoint how Yuzu is to be blame or his coaching need to be change. BECAUSE sometimes things just don't go the way you want it to be the moment you need it to be. Sometimes Yuzu can be very prepared and then at that moment he failed but other times he is prepared and as people said the star aligned he will do it splendidly. This failure at world could be a humbling moment for him. We don't know what he is facing now, how is he feeling and what he will do to fix this. We can only support him as his fans. Not just cheer when he did excellently but also support him when he done badly. Positive criticism is a good thing but not blaming game because it leads nowhere.

Sorry if I offend anyone but I just need to let this out after reading some shocking comments from Yuzuru's own fans.
Those people were not fans to begin with. I suggest you ignore those stupid people. :) Some comments here annoyed me because some fans acted like it was the end of the world... BIG LOL. The kid not winning sure was totally unexpected this year, but he still got 2nd. :) There're quite a number of "stars" in figure skating that were said to be the next big thing or unbeatable, and yet had failed to deliver for quite some times.

Don't say sorry, you didn't do anything wrong, I am with you. :ghug:

Let's understand this result is really shocked and people are probably just not in the mood.

We all know this WC is special to Yuzu, but still, yes, it's just one of the competitions and I can say it's even one program. The truth is that, he failed a couple of times beforehand and the contexts were quite different to each of them. I don't see an absolute pattern telling a hint that he had a constant big issue. Some skaters do really have a pattern that you can tell they have a certain demons or issues that they just can't get through, like Amodio... (it's only me and a little sample only.)

All in all, I am not a person who just look at the failures, I want to look at both achievements and the hiccups. It's good to find out the issues and tackle them. I just think fans most likely don't have enough information to the situation and especially about the athlete's feelings to say anything too far. Especially we are talking about Hanyu who doesn't use social media and never proactively disclose too much to the public.

The WC week isn't even ended. People need time to digest the result. I think it's true and reasonable for both fans and Hanyu and his team.

Yeah judging by this thread for the last three days it seems like Yuzu is not an adult, he needs an extra caring Mommy-style coach (Japanese because Yuzu doesn't understand English) to be there for him 24/7, try to train as far away from his best rival because he could catch up from him very fast, etc, etc. Yesterday I cared so these comments were getting to me but now I can only laugh.
Cowards blame the others, cowards find excuse, cowards run and hide. Yuzu is none of these. He's a Champion. And he will gain that Worlds crown back, I believe in him.

And he does really show us in action. TBH I feel much better when I heard his comments to his performance in FS. His remarks were even clearer and more concrete than the one he's given after his defeat of Skate Canada. He really knows what is happening. At least I don't find any clues showing that we know better than him...

Just be realistic, I don't think skaters should (and can) switch between clubs time to time only because your main rival is there. People used to say Fernandez should not train with Yuzu as he'll be overshadowed and confidence will be soft too. We have limited choices in clubs with full facilities and coach team. Don't even mention the language and cultural issue. If we really consolidate a list for him to choose in according to fans opinions, he got... wait, I really can't think of anything in my mind... :confused2:

Hello, everyone. I'm also new to the thread.
Does anyone know if there's an actual footage from the small medal ceremony?

Just missing the fluffy white ears.

Ears... NOOOOO I can't... :cheer2: Give him everything!!! Please!!!
I feel like caress this little bunny a bit but I think he will bite me...

I was scared and sad like a dead fish due to the result but tbh I am worrying about fans instead of him now. He moves on but some of his fans don't, or moving to a very pessimistic way... But let's just sit tight and see what's going to happen next season.

Today's news article. It says, Yuzuru had serious reservations about the second 4S. Due to injury of his left instep that reoccurred at the beginning of this year, he had to change the second 4T to 4S, because toe jump gives stress on his left foot. It means his layout change was not to earn additional points. I never imagined this.

http://www.sponichi.co.jp/sports/news/2016/04/03/kiji/K20160403012331060.html

He did not excuse his injury for his defeat. Javi did well also with injury. Chan banged into the rink wall. So many things happened in the rink including his own failures. He says "This is the Worlds with so many dramas." "I could not win at this stage. It means I have still a long road to travel", he emphasized his words.

Go for it, Yuzuru

OMG, Yuzuru seems to have gone to Tarasova to say sorry for his having failed to meet her expectations

How sincere he is

Yuzu receiving his small medal , our boy is so polite.

The fans gathered for the ceremony ...they can just scream because everyone was taking photo so cannot clap. I hope he feel the love.

More photos #1, #2, #3, #4

Ema (spelling?) good luck for next season

Some more pictures of Yuzu and Javi on a small medal ceremony. Javi is a very supporting friend, he's been comforting Yuzu just standing close to him and hugging him for the pictures. And look at his palm on Yuzu's back. That is what friends do.

WORLDS – Translations

Russian Eurosport commentary of Yuzuru's LP by Jurankov and Voronov.

Into Yuzuru's LP skate:

Jurankov: Now let's see the skate by Yuzuru Hanyu. To be honest we all so got used to him being immaculate this season that now it's only up to the judges how will the score him tonight.
Voronov: Don't forget that it's a World Championships. Yes, I understand that last year we've already witnessed that Hanyu did not skate that good and then he was rooting for Javier so that Javier became a Worlds Champion for the first time.

The skate begins.

Voronov: This program- Seimei- is absolutely first-class. Suits him a lot.
Jurankov: Seimei is a... actually there is a movie, he was a Japanese wiseman, he lived at the beginning of the second millenium, at the turn of millenium.

4S
Jurankov: Oh, that was rough.
Voronov: With hand down.
Jurankov: When he landed there was it looks like pudlle, right before the judges.
Voronov: I think it's because it's very hot in there, there are a lot of people in the arena so the cooling system doesn't work properly. And here comes 4T, great gob, he fought for it! Thirple flip, awesome. Now the rest of the jumps will be on the second part.
Jurankov: And one fo those jumps would be an attempt of a quad. All the moves are made into the music that has a lot of subtext, very meaninful one as well as a Japanese sense of purpose.
Voronov: We've already discussed this during the Ladies event taht Yuzuru acts as a real samurai, he is humble, amiable.

4S

Jurankov: Here it is- oh no. That was the second quad.
Voronov: Didn't work today.
Jurankov: It was a second quad Sal, I was wrong. In fact it was his third quad.
Voronov: 3A3T- well done! That's the attitude!

The skate is done.

Jurankov: How he is always in time with this final accord.
Voronov: Right. There is so much of a will power in him. He fell in the second part on his third quad. It was visible that his jumps were not ideal, he did not succeed on some of them but he fought.
Juranknov: Yes, some say it happens that they feel constraint in the feet, must be the wrong day, something went wrong.
Voronov: But he is the one who is able to fight. He fought through the entire program. It's admirable.
Jurankov: We haven't seen Yuzuru dropping with sweat like this for quite a long time now. Even when he skated at GPF when he reached his final accord (in Seimei) and there was a feeling that he is able to skate again, his SP at least. But what is the conclusion at the moment? The conclusion is that here in Boston at this very moment in time Kolyada (judging by the score we saw on the screen in the left top corner) Kolyada performed better than Hanyu. But of course Yuzuru is an amazing figure skater but... now we need to calculate a bit, right? Serghey?
Voronov: Emm...
Jurankov: Let's calculate the score for Yuzuru.

This part is hard to read, sorry, I did not translate a part with basically numbers. We can see numbers in the Judges Scores.

So they watch the recap of jumps and mark mistakes and possible score. (I hate that part, they basically calculate deductions).

Jurankov: So he lost about 12 points. On quad Sal the most and on his Lz at the end.
Voronov: Not his best (skate).
Jurankov: So it's about 15 points off, right?
Voronov: Anyway I think that Javier will get the chance (to win). Perhaps it wouldn't be a big one but it it could be.
Jurankov: So it seems like he lost all of his handicap.

Seeing the score Jurankov compares it to GPF one and says Yuzu lost to himself with more than 30 points.
The end.

You see what I start to hate... Is that we all expect Yuzu to always come with 200 something now. Even the commentators, some of them, I mean... Voronov wasn't that harsh not because he likes Yuzu a lot and not because he has a lot of respect to Yuzuru as a fellow athlete but simply because he knows what it means to have a bad skate day. It's not only Yuzu who needs to loosen up, we all need to loosen up on him too. And let him be a human. Can we?

Any Japanese fan can confirm- there is going to be an exclusive interview with Yuzu on TV and Yuzu said "It is a test from God"? I've read it on Twitter.

Basically he's always nervous before competition and I think this is a common sense that nearly all athletes are terribly nervous before such a large competition. According to Orser, Hanyu was nervous but not anything unusual. Hanyu himself even said he's quite clam before the show. Probably they missed something, but again, I dunno why we, fans, saw Hanyu like 15 minutes a day (or even less) can tell more than his coach team or even himself? We don't need to always agree with our little prince and his coaches but at least, that conclusion should be drawn with enough evidence.

It's easy to rationalize an argument when we think back and match the nuances to the result. Must there be a necessary causal relationship? No.

Hanyu was emotional to an extent that his facial expression of his ending pose was being teased as a face of devil after NHK SP last year but he made it again in FS. He's not doing very well during the last practice before SP in WC this year also, but we can't say the SP result was bad. Meanwhile, Last year, he was not doing anything weird in practice sessions before FS, but he lost finally.

Don't even mention his lots of practice sessions during lots of competitions he's taken part in previous years. He's not the roller-coaster but he's not definitely stable when we are talking about his performance in practice.

According to his own words, there's a problem of 'unbalance between physical and mental status.' So I am not saying he's perfect or no need to improve, it's just, to me, he knows the causes and it absolutely no evidence showing there are anything as serious as some kind oh mental crisis that let him breakdown in the future.

Of course he's nervous, he just seemed more nervous this time, which is understandable. The circumstances this time were very different and he was definitely more easily agitated. It's not a slight against him at all to note that and doesn't diminish what he had accomplished still. There doesn't need to be anything serious mentally, just saying that the pressure was too much, which I'm sure everyone can agree with? It was probably more than Orser imagined since he thought everything was fine. They'll need to find a way to reduce that internal pressure and burden of perfection before the competition next time and once he figures out how to do that, he would be fine. The great and admirable thing about him is that he is an optimist, doesn't give up and directs his frustrations to the right places. He is exceptionally self-aware as well.

- Сегодня ко мне Юзуру подходил. Встал на колени и извинялся, что не оправдал ожидания. Ну ничего. Он прекрасно знает, что я - его фанатка.
Yuzuru came up to me today, he knelt before me and apologised for not living up to expectations. It doesn't matter. He knows very well I'm his fan.

Oh Lord, if these were Tarasova's words (and they seem to be), I don't know what I feel more - sadness or amusement.

Ouch. It was obvious that this loss hit Yuzuru hard but this just shows how hard he's taking it and how much he feels that he must live up to expectations.
