Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

I love David but I just think his style of choreography isn't suited with Yuzuru. But who knows~ we might be surprise. I hope its a good kind of surprise.
I think it is better to do a program with David for the next season and see if it clicks with the judges and the audience. If it wouldn't he can do a new LP for the Olympics. Looks like win win to me. And I don't think David's going to do SP. But if Yuzu switches and does LP with Jeff Buttle- I'd love to see the fruit of the switch. Let David do his short then.

Here seems to be a long interview with Yuzu, can someone translate it please? http://courrier.jp/news/archives/49378/ I understand that to read the full text you need to be a subscriber, maybe someone is already?

Finale part of the article:
I (Yuzu) recovered myself from losing the world champion soon and had a refresh looking to the future. That's because I'm confident in getting growth after a bitter result.
Comparing to prior season, I made quite much progress this season. I felt of nothing improved in the post-Sochi season. However, I indeed got much evolution in the following year. This kind of pattern gives me much of expectation in 2016-2017 season.
I will have new Short & Free programs. In my ideal of figure skating, all technical elements should be integrated into music as a whole one. So this is the very important consideration when new choreography is made.
Figure skating is continually evolving in technical phase, that means only technical strength could not assured your win. So what's your competitive strength when skaters are reaching the same (or similar) technical difficulties? In my opinion, the skater's personality (or characteristic strength) will be vital. I expect the skater's personality probably more publicity than it is now, the era of personality competition in figure skating will come of it.

as you see Yuzuru moved on way quicker than many of his fans, his season has been step forward for him. This is a good answer to some fans questions "is his mentality ok? " or "will he recover", never ever underestimate this boy :))))

I agree it's better to test now than trying it during Olympic season. I am curious as how Jeff Buttle choreo would work if he is doing the LP.

It certainly amazing to see how far he has improved.
I was watching all his skating since he was 6 years old until now and gosh the feeling of watching the development of his skating is just wonderful. That I felt no longer care about his placement and just thankful to be able be a fan in time to appreciate his beautiful skating.
True!

Speaking of his skating and deep edge, I love this GIF!

I prefer his inside eagle to outside. That makes his looong legs look more beautiful. I want to see it in programs for competition.

Atta boy! I really like his attitude of approaching bitter experience use it to grow even more. I hope his next season would also inspire the next and so on. 結弦なら大丈夫!:agree: He is a high level performance athlete for a reason! :hap10:

Yes! Further, in the article, i'm espcially interested in his respect with Patrick. Patrick has been special to him and its presense shall remain huge inside him.

Thank you for the information of the latter part :agree:

He is enjoying his rivals are getting improved and stronger, and he has great respects towards them; Javi, Boyang, and especially Patrick's attitude. This is Yuzuru Hanyu we love.

He is described as "Shojo Manga (girls comics) appearance with Shonen Jump spirit inside." ("Shonen Jump" is one of boys comics magazines that is famous for its Spo-kon (Sports and Guts) manga).

I love his Shonen Jump spirit to enjoy competitions with his great rivals :cheer:

Yes. The way he speak about Patrick in that article really shows his respect towards Patrick because he was looking up to Patrick as he is transitioning into seniors, looking at Patrick consecutive wins with the high quality in his skating pushed Yuzuru as well to match him and that is the reason he grows into the skater he is now. And now he is the benchmark. It's like passing the torch but the one who passed it is still in the race. I am so excited to see this race in men's figure skating. Everyone is pushing to each other. :hap10:

based on google translator it seems Yuzu talks about Javi's changing layout... I'm curious

He says he was so delighted at Javi trying to develop further after his scores at GPF. "Everyone is just trying to win!":)

Boston Worlds
Insideskating by Florentina Tone
http://www.insideskating.net/2016/0...nd-the-little-but-relevant-stories-among-them

"Let’s start with that: close your eyes for a couple of seconds – and think about the biggest moments of this year’s edition of the Worlds. What do you see? I see (and almost hear) Yuzuru Hanyu’s roar before the step sequence in his Chopin short program, and then again, I hear him yelling once the routine has ended, relieved, exhaling pressure – "

Thank you Hamaguri for posting this, and thanks Florentina Tone for making a great analysis for the World 2016 in Boston for the 4 th category of skating ! :)
Another memory : Worlds 2012 , RJ1, the moment I discovered the great skater Yuzuru Hanyu at 17 when he took the bronze after a shining LP. I love the commentary of British Eurosport.

Thank you, Giulia! This is the best to see! Shivers, yes, a powerful sense of awe, respect, and joy. I love this performance and have watched it many times and tried to imagine what it was like to be there. This is amazing and wonderful to see. I am so thankful to you for posting it--so happy that you were there!

It was like a perfect storm, one of the strongest emotions I experienced in my life. The power Yuzu has is enormous, he's a genius.

I read things like this and I feel I really need to see him live at least once in my life !

Totally agree with you about the emotional impact. My seat was really up high for this performance, but even then the whole arena got involved with his performance, gasp when he fell in the step sequence, and cheered like crazy in support until the end. Although I knew about Yuzu as a junior since I lived in Japan at that time, it wasn't until this performance that I became a real fan!

A very belated thanks to all the posters who told us about Worlds this year ! My laptop crashed after the 2nd practice :( and couldn't post anything at all. Finally got the laptop repaired, so maybe I'll be ready for next season :) . I think I met some GS board members and Yuzu fans there---if you're out there, let me know.

Hi Ladysci, it was nice to ride to the airport with you and talk about our love of Yuzu and his skating. It is awesome to find strangers who appreciate the amazing skater and person that Yuzu is and realize we aren't strangers after all. Worlds was an incredible experience beyond anything I could describe in words. I too am grateful to the tireless fans on this site who keep us up to date on Yuzu and provide such incredible love and support for him. :yahoo:
